Today I want to share with you how to make a cute off-the-shoulder blouse with a gather in the front. My youngest daughter asked me to copy a pattern we saw in a store that she loved, so let's get to work 🪡🧵. Here's the step-by-step instructions:

Hace unos días fuimos a una tienda de mi ciudad y mi hija se enamoró de una blusa, fuimos hasta los vestidores y se la midió, a ella le encantó, les confieso a as mi no, yo la veo muy niña para estos escotes, mi hija tiene 12 años, pero ya ella quiere vestirse mas como una muchacha grande, le dije que principalmente el precio de esa blusa no me parecía, esta costaba 8$ y la vi tan sencilla que me pareció muy costosa para la tela y el modelo.

Mi hija seguía con la insistencia que se la comprara y para calmarla le dije que en casa tenía unas telas que podía copiar el modelo pero más acorde para ella ya que esta era muy corta y muy escotada en la parte de los hombros, al llegar a casa busqué entre mis telas de las cuales me quedan varias Rib, le di a escoger entre una rosada, una roja y una estampada y ella prefirió la rosada.

Cuándo pertenecemos al mundo de la costura es difícil que nos estafen con algunas prendas en las tiendas, lo primero que no me pareció de la blusa fue la tela ya que era muy parecida a la muselina la cual es una de las telas más económicas que existen y segundo estaba solo en colores oscuros gris y negro y pienso que mi hija todavía está pequeña y puede usar colores más llamativos, para guiarme en el modelo voy a usar un suéter que le hice recientemente, le haré una pequeña transformación en la parte superior, aquí les dejo la lista de materiales a utilizar

A few days ago, we went to a store in my city, and my daughter fell in love with a blouse. We went to the fitting room and she tried it on. She loved it. My daughter kept insisting that I buy it for her, and to calm her down, I told her I had some fabrics at home that she could copy the style but that would be more suitable for her since it was too short and had a very low neckline. When I got home, I looked through my fabrics, of which I still have several ribbed ones. I gave her a choice between a pink one, a red one, and a patterned one, and she preferred the pink one.

When we belong to the world of sewing it is difficult to be scammed with some clothes in the stores, the first thing that did not seem right to me about the blouse was the fabric since it was very similar to muslin which is one of the most economical fabrics that exist and second it was only in dark colors gray and black and I think that my daughter is still small and can use more striking colors, to guide me in the model I am going to use a sweater that I made recently, I will make a small transformation in the upper part, here is the list of materials to use

Vamos a comenzar dibujando nuestra blusa sobre la tela, si la quieres hacer a tu medida puedes guiarte con una blusa del tamaño de tu preferencia, doblas la tela a la mitad, igual la blusa que vas a usar y Copias el modelo por toda la orilla, la transformación la lleva en la parte superior, vamos a dejar en la parte del contorno de manga un aproximado de 10 cm.

Mi hija es de baja estatura así que el largo de la blusa desde la orilla superior hasta la orilla donde haremos el ruedo será de 46 cm, marcando desde la orilla del contorno de manga por un costado le bajé 24 cm para dibujar la cintura, de allí hasta abajo Donde será el largo de la blusa serán 10 cm adicionales, el ancho en el área del contorno de busto es de 22 cm, podemos cortar la pieza delantera y la de atrás al mismo tiempo ya que las dos no tienen diferencia.

From there, down to the bottom, where the length of the blouse will be, there will be an additional 10 cm. The width at the bust is 22 cm. We can cut the front and back pieces at the same time since they're the same size.

Ahora vamos a cortar las mangas, mi hija me pidió que la manga fuera holgada en la parte de la mano y larga, doblamos la tela a la mitad, las medidas aproximadas serán las siguientes: el ancho aproximado de 19 cm, en la parte del contorno de manga le vamos a dejar una distancia de 18 cm , el largo total de la manga es de 67, cm el ancho en la orilla del ruedo es de 16 cm al doble.

Now we are going to cut the sleeves, my daughter asked me for the sleeve to be loose at the hand part and long, we fold the fabric in half, the approximate measurements will be the following: the approximate width of 19 cm, in the part of the sleeve contour we are going to leave a distance of 18 cm, the total length of the sleeve is 67 cm the width at the edge of the hem is 16 cm doubled.

En este paso vamos a comenzar con las costuras, vamos a unir por el contorno de manga, nos fijamos bien en cada lado hasta completar los cuatro lados, luego vamos a unir por los dos laterales, yo primero paso a costura Overlook y luego una costura recta de refuerzo, esto lo hago ya que mi máquina con las telas elásticas en algunas ocasiones salta la puntada y así logro que me quede más reforzada.

Luego vamos a hacer ruedo en las mangas y en la parte inferior de la blusa, cortaremos una tira de la misma tela de 6 cm de ancho para colocarle en el escote, este quedó de 45 cm de ancho, la orilla la voy a cortar 5 cm menos para que me quede un poco fruncida, le uno con costura la orilla superior y luego le paso una costura de refuerzo por la parte derecha.

Then we are going to hem the sleeves and the bottom of the blouse, we will cut a strip of the same fabric 6 cm wide to place on the neckline, this was 45 cm wide, I am going to cut the edge 5 cm less so that it is a little gathered, I will sew the upper edge and then I will put a reinforcement seam on the right side.

Ya con esto tenemos lista la blusa ahora vamos a hacerle el fruncido o arruchado en la parte delantera, volteamos la blusa por el lado del revés, doblamos la parte delantera a la mitad y fijamos con alfileres, le voy a colocar el elástico de 20 cm dejando una distancia de 20 cm desde el ruedo inferior , le paso costura recta y refuerzo en las orillas para que no se vaya a descoser, ya con esto está lista esta linda blusa al hombro con fruncido en la parte delantera.
