Hace poco fuimos a la tienda de telas y nos dimos cuenta que habían unas del personaje Kuromi y mis hijas quedaron encantadas con ellas, ya que eran muy lindas, cuando llega este tipo de mercancía a esta tienda inmediatamente se vende, así que ya quedaba muy poca y aprovechamos de comprar unos retazos para hacer unas lindas sábanas y hoy quiero compartir con ustedes la confección de estas lindas sábanas esquineras, tamaño individual, acompáñame y te comparto el paso a paso:

We recently went to the fabric store and noticed they had some Kuromi character fabrics. My daughters were thrilled with them; they were so cute! When this type of merchandise arrives at this store, it sells out immediately, so there were very few left. We took the opportunity to buy some scraps to make some lovely sheets, and today I want to share with you how to make these cute twin-size fitted sheets. Join me, and I'll share the step-by-step instructions:

Mi hija mayor está muy enganchada con este personaje de Kuromi y ha logrado coleccionar muchas cosas de él, y ya lo que le faltaba era la sábana para su cama, a mi hija más pequeña le gusta, pero no es tan fanática, pero igual tuvimos suerte de conseguir dos diseños diferentes de esta tela, para hacer una sábana para cada una, antes me gustaba mucho comprar de este tipo de tela para hacerles sábana a mis hijos, sólo que se decoloraban muy rápido, espero que este no sea el caso, lo cierto es que están muy lindas y mis hijas comparten habitación y así combinamos con el mismo personaje, aquí les dejo la lista de materiales a utilizar:
- Para una sábana esquinera, necesitarás 2 m de tela que esta tenga mínimo 2 m de ancho, la que compramos tiene 2.40 m, así que quedará un excedente
- cinta métrica
- Tijeras
- Elástico
- Hilo
- Máquina de coser
My eldest daughter is really into the Kuromi character and has managed to collect a lot of Kuromi merchandise. The only thing she was missing was a sheet for her bed. My youngest daughter likes it, but she's not as big a fan. We were lucky enough to find two different designs of this fabric to make a sheet for each of them. I used to love buying this type of fabric to make sheets for my children, but they faded very quickly. I hope that won't be the case this time. The truth is, they're very cute, and my daughters share a room, so we can coordinate with the same character. Here's the list of materials you'll need:
- For a fitted sheet, you'll need 2 meters of fabric that's at least 2 meters wide. The one we bought is 2.40 meters wide, so there will be some excess.
- Measuring tape
- Scissors
- Elastic
- Thread
- Sewing machine

Para la confección de estas sábanas, vamos a tomar las medidas de nuestro colchón, muchas veces varían por algunos centímetros, en mi caso, el colchón de mis hijas mide 1 m de ancho por 1,86 de largo y el otro colchón mide 1,88 igual 1 m de ancho, comenzaremos, doblando la tela a la mitad a lo largo, si el colchón mide 1 m de ancho, dividimos esta medida a la mitad y le sumamos 30 cm en total serían 80 cm, los 30 cm, es para hacer el doble para las esquinas.
Con esta tela tuve un contratiempo ya que conseguimos sólo un retazo y esta tenía 1,60 de largo y de ancho 2,40 m., así que utilicé el ancho de la tela para el largo de la sábana y casi me dio la medida exacta, el largo que tenía que era 1, 60 Tuve que utilizarlo para el ancho de la sábana y me favoreció con el diseño de los dibujos, ya que vienen al contrario de la tela, entonces para el ancho de las esquinas obligadamente, tuve que dejarle un aproximado de 27 cm.
To make these sheets, we'll take the measurements of our mattress. These measurements often vary by a few centimeters. In my case, my daughters' mattresses are 1 meter wide by 1.86 meters long, and the other mattress is 1.88 meters long and 1 meter wide. We'll begin by folding the fabric in half lengthwise. If the mattress is 1 meter wide, we divide this measurement in half and add 30 cm, for a total of 80 cm. The extra 30 cm is for hemming the corners.
With this fabric I had a setback because we only got one scrap, and it was 1.60 m long and 2.40 m wide. So I used the width of the fabric for the length of the sheet, and it almost gave me the exact measurement. The length I had, which was 1.60 m, I had to use for the width of the sheet, and it worked in my favor with the design of the drawings, since they run in the opposite direction to the fabric. So for the width of the corners, I had to leave approximately 27 cm.
Ahora vamos a marcar el largo de la tela, en este caso si el colchón mide 1,86 m dividimos esta medida a la mitad que son 93 cm y luego le sumamos los 30 cm para el doblez de las esquineras, con nuestra tela ya doblada en cuatro uniendo las cuatro esquinas y ya marcadas las medidas cortamos el sobrante de tela y dejamos aproximadamente 1 cm para las costuras
El mismo procedimiento lo hice para mi segunda tela, con esta el percance que tuve fue que la tela venía mal cortada y estaba muy torcida en las orillas, así que tuve que escuadrar bien la tela y luego hacer los dobleces para luego cortar a la medida justa
Now we're going to mark the length of the fabric. In this case, if the mattress measures 1.86 m, we divide this measurement in half, which is 93 cm, and then add 30 cm for the corner fold. With our fabric already folded in four, joining the four corners, and the measurements marked, we cut off the excess fabric and leave approximately 1 cm for the seams.
I followed the same procedure for my second piece of fabric. The problem I had with this one was that the fabric was badly cut and very crooked at the edges, so I had to square the fabric properly and then make the folds before cutting it to the correct size.

In this step we'll start with the seams. We'll fold each corner over, joining them with a seam, forming the corner until we've completed all four. Then we'll cut approximately 30 cm of elastic to place in each corner. In my case, the elastic I have is approximately 3 cm wide. This type of elastic allows us to divide it into sections as desired, so I cut it in half, and one strip makes two.
Para hacerle el ruedo en las orillas, vamos a comenzar colocando los elásticos en cada esquina, a estos les paso costura en zig zag, luego doblo y paso costura recta por toda la orilla de la sábana, y así ya tenemos listo nuestro esquinero para cama individual
To hem the edges, we'll start by placing the elastic at each corner. I'll sew a zigzag stitch to these, then fold and sew a straight stitch all along the edge of the sheet, and that's how we have our corner piece for a single bed ready.
