Estamos próximos a la celebración del Día del Amor y quiero compartir con ustedes un pedido muy especial que me hicieron, esta es la confección de dos suéter o chaquetas en tela polar del mismo modelo y color para lucir hermosos el día del amor, amo hacer outfits para parejas y que estos atuendos vayan a juego, así que manos a la obra, aquí les dejo el paso a paso:

Day is just around the corner, and I wanted to share a very special order I received: two matching fleece sweaters or jackets in the same style and color to look beautiful on Valentine's Day. I love making outfits for couples, especially matching ones, so let's get started! Here are the step-by-step instructions:

En lo personal, el día del amor y la amistad es para demostrar ese amor que sientes hacia cualquier persona de tu entorno, bien sea un familiar, un amigo o tu pareja y una de las mejores formas de demostrar tu amor y celebrar este día es luciendo un hermoso atuendo junto a esta persona especial, en este caso, me encargaron hacer unos suéteres o chaquetas para frío en una hermosa tela polar, aquí te dejo la lista de materiales a utilizar:

• 4 m de tela polar
• Botones
• Cinta métrica
• Hilo
• Tijeras
• Máquina de coser

Personally, Valentine's Day is a time to show the love you feel for anyone in your life, whether it's a family member, a friend, or your partner. One of the best ways to show your love and celebrate this day is by wearing a beautiful outfit with that special person. In this case, I was commissioned to make some sweaters or jackets for cold weather using a beautiful fleece fabric. Here's the list of materials you'll need:

• 4 meters of fleece fabric
• Buttons
• Measuring tape
• Thread
• Scissors
• Sewing machine

Para la confección de estos suéter podemos utilizar el patrón Basico de camisa, en mi caso voy a utilizar los dos patrones, de mujer y hombre, a estos les vamos a hacer algunas modificaciones, la confección de los suéteres es muy sencilla, ya que estos mayormente no llevan ni pinzas, ni curvas en la cintura, ellos son completamente rectos, coloco el patrón delantero sobre la tela doble, dejó el espacio para la botonera.

Modificaremos la parte de los hombros, estos los haré más largos y la curva del contorno de manga un poco más cerrada, con esto lograremos que quede más holgado en la parte superior, por el lateral haré una línea completamente recta y dejaré un excedente de cuatro o 5 cm, también lo haré más largo que el patrón de camisa .

Podemos guiarnos también sólo con el patrón de atrás de la camisa, a este también le haremos modificaciones en los hombros, en los lados y en el ruedo, cortamos y luego ponemos sobre la tela doble y dejamos el excedente para la botonera y le hacemos la figura más baja en la parte del cuello.

To make these sweaters, we can use the basic shirt pattern. In my case, I'm going to use both the women's and men's patterns, making a few modifications. Sweater construction is very simple, as they generally don't have darts or waist curves; they're completely straight. I place the front pattern piece on the folded fabric, leaving space for the button placket.

We'll modify the shoulder area, making it longer and the sleeve curve a bit tighter. This will make it looser at the top. For the side seam, I'll make a completely straight line and leave a 4 or 5 cm seam allowance, also making it longer than the shirt pattern.

We can also use just the back shirt pattern. We'll also make modifications to this one, specifically to the shoulders, sides, and hem. We cut it out, then place it on the folded fabric, leaving the seam allowance for the button placket, and make the neckline lower.

Ahora vamos a confeccionar las mangas,Para la chaqueta de hombre, voy a guiarme con el patrón que tengo de la manga, sólo que este es manga corta, para esto mido el largo deseado le aumento 5 cm para el ruedo y le doy la forma, cortamos dos piezas, para la confección de la manga del suéter de dama, mido el contorno de manga y le doy la forma igual mido el largo deseado y el aumento para las costuras.

Now we're going to make the sleeves. For the men's jacket, I'm going to use the sleeve pattern I have, only this one is a short sleeve. For this, I measure the desired length, add 5 cm for the hem, and shape it. We cut two pieces. For the sleeve of the women's sweater, I measure the sleeve circumference and shape it. I also measure the desired length and add for the seams.

En este paso vamos a confeccionar la capucha, Esta chaqueta es una talla X X.L, aproximadamente así que la capucha será grande, las medidas serán las siguientes : de ancho 38 cm , de largo en la parte del frente 50 cm, se bajan 3 cm en la orilla superior y se le da una semi curva. En la parte de atrás. Bajamos 10 cm y hacemos una semi curva uniendo con la orilla, para el cuello subimos alrededor de 8 cm y hacemos una semi curva, con esto quedará más bajo en la parte de atrás y más ancho. En la parte delantera, para la capucha de la chaqueta de dama disminuiremos estas medidas, ya que la talla es mucho más pequeña.

In this step, we'll make the hood. This jacket is approximately an XXL, so the hood will be large. En este paso vamos a comenzar con las costuras, unimos por los hombros, en mi caso paso costura, recta y Overlook, luego unimos las mangas y la capucha, cortamos los excedentes de tela y unimos por todo el lateral, luego le paso Overlook a todas las orillas para poder hacer ruedos, en algunas partes del suéter, tuve que pasar doble costura recta para que aplanara un poco la tela y que fuera más fácil pasar la Overlook, ya que por Momentos pasando este tipo de costura, la tela se me corría o se me estiraba y es necesario asegurar con esta costura o con zig zag ya que la tela se deshilacha mucho en las orillas y para evitar que se dañe, es mejor asegurar con este tipo de costura.

In this step, we'll begin with the seams. We join the shoulders; in my case, I use a straight stitch and an overlock stitch. Then we join the sleeves and the hood, cut off the excess fabric, and join along the entire side. Next, I overlock all the edges to create hems. In some parts of the sweater, I had to use a double straight stitch to flatten the fabric a bit and make it easier to overlock, since sometimes when using this type of stitching, the fabric would shift or stretch. It's necessary to secure it with this stitch or a zigzag stitch because the fabric frays a lot at the edges, and to prevent damage, it's best to secure it with this type of stitching.

Para finalizar hacemos los ruedos en las mangas, en la parte inferior del suéter, y en la botonera le damos el doble, me gusta que la capucha quede un poquito más sobresalida que la medida de la botonera, ya que al doblar esta me va a quedar un poco más adentro y puedo hacer el ruedo un poco más ancho, luego tomo la medida para los ojales y por último le coso los botones y así ya están listas. Estas lindas chaquetas. 🥰❤️

To finish, we hem the sleeves and the bottom of the sweater, and we fold over the button placket. I like the hood to stick out a little more than the button placket, because when I fold it over, it will tuck in a bit more, and I can make the hem a little wider. Then I measure for the buttonholes, and finally, I sew on the buttons, and they're finished! These lovely jackets. 🥰❤️
