Have you checked your Facebook today?
I bet!
People nowadays are into Social Media (duuuhh! if you are reading this, you are into it too).
The thing is, social media made us look into the life of others, easily.
That batchmate who just bought a house and lot.
Your friend that got the best marriage proposal.
Cousins going to Europe.
And so on and so forth.
You see, we constantly compare ourselves to others, and it makes us sad.
I do too, unconsciously.
The thing is, it affects my day entirely... So as I was walking in the park and thinking about life when I saw a snail going into my direction.
I was waiting for it to reach me.
But it's moving so slooooooowly.
And it would probably be night time if I will wait.
What I did is to just go near it and observed.
It has a round and spiral shell that seems to be dirty. He has this two antenna like thingy on his head, and he looks so slimy.
He crawls so slowlyyyy.
One thing sticks out to me: He is slow but he doesn't stop.
Consistency.
He doesn't lose focus on what he wants to achieve. To go from point A to point B.
I don't know what he is thinking (or if he even thinks) but from the look at it, he minds his own business.
He doesn't have time to compare himself to a butterfly or a spider.
He doesn't have time to compare why he has to bring his house everyday.
Here's the deal...
There's somebody in the world who just heard she has a stage 4 cancer, and there is someone who just won the lottery.
Chances are, you're in a bad or good mood today, but nothing extreme.
So better start enjoying your life, appreciating the progress you've made, and not just looking sideways at others.
Set your goal, and look at it straight than looking at others accomplishments.
I left the park, and I still don't know where the snail is headed. But I am sure he was able to get where he wanted to be.
