Joyful Journeys #1 An unusual place - the springs of the river Łyna

Hey, I recently visited Prof. Roman Kobendza's nature reserve, the source of the river Łyna. This beautiful landscape reserve is located near the village of Łyna in the municipality of Nidzica. The aim of the protection is to preserve the springs of the Łyna River and the interesting geological phenomenon of retrograde spring erosion (a type of erosion that leads to the retreat of sills in the riverbed and cuts the closure of the valley, thus usually extending the valley upstream).

I came there with my girlfriend (Hive account@aleximprovement). We managed to arrive on the only nice day in recent times, or at least we thought so at first. We took our cameras with us and bought a snacks at the petrol station. There were quite a few cars in the nearby car park, but we didn't meet many people, perhaps due to the fact that the park is fairly large and everyone followed their own path, and there were quite a few to choose from. Our first destination was the Łyna's Mill. We visited a small café there, where we planned to buy an ice cream on the way back.

In the area I managed to take one of the first nice photos.

We then walked further into the forest, which was becoming denser and denser. We were surrounded by beautiful nature and wetlands. Everything was teeming with life. I love reserves just for views like this. I took a lot of photos here and enjoyed life together with Ola. Further on the road was steep and we had to climb higher. We took a small break at one of the wooden viewing platforms, which was by the springs themselves, a rare sight in our area.

After the break, we continued on our adventure with a smile. We visited all the viewing platforms to take lots of photos. Unfortunately, we heard a thunderstorm, which meant we had to make them a little faster. Not long afterwards, we reached a barrow (a kind of grave in the shape of a semicircular mound and is characteristic of a cult hill) this is a sacred place of the Prussians. It was of great interest to me as I am interested in history, but we could not afford to explore this monument for longer as the storm was getting closer.

Fortunately, we reached the car before the storm. It's a shame that the trip ended early, but I will certainly return to this place again. I can say that I was revived by this little trip and was in a great mood for the rest of the day. When you are ever in the area, I warmly invite you!

Hej, Niedawno odwiedziłem rezerwat przyrody źródła rzeki Łyny im. prof. Romana Kobendzy. Ten piękny rezerwat krajobrazowy położony jest nieopodal wsi Łyna w gminie Nidzica. Celem ochrony jest zachowanie źródeł rzeki Łyny oraz interesującego zjawiskiem geologicznego, jakim jest wsteczna erozja źródliskowa (rodzaj erozji prowadzący do cofania się progów w korycie rzecznym i rozcinania zamknięcia doliny, a przez to najczęściej do wydłużania doliny w górę rzeki).

Przybyłem tam z moją dziewczyną (Hive account@aleximprovement). Udało nam się przyjechać w jedyny ładny dzień w ostatnim czasie, a przynajmniej na początku tak myśleliśmy. Zabraliśmy ze sobą aparaty, a mały prowiant dokupiliśmy na stacji benzynowej. Na pobliskim parkingu było sporo aut, ale wielu ludzi nie spotkaliśmy, być może dzięki temu, że park jest w miarę duży i każdy podążał własną ścieżką, a do wyboru było ich sporo. Naszym pierwszym celem był łyński młyn. Odwiedziliśmy tam małą kawiarnię, gdzie zaplanowaliśmy, że kupimy sobie lody w drodze powrotnej.

W okolicy udało mi się zrobić jedno z pierwszych ładnych zdjęć.

Później poszliśmy dalej w las, który stawał się coraz gęstszy. Otaczała nas przepiękna natura i podmokłe tereny. Wszystko tętniło życiem. Kocham rezerwaty właśnie za takie widoki. Zrobiłem tu sporo zdjęć i cieszyłem się życiem razem z Olą. Dalej droga była stroma i musieliśmy wejść wyżej. Zrobiliśmy sobie małą przerwę na jednym z drewnianych pomostów widokowych, który był przy samych źródliskach, które to są rzadkim widokiem na naszych terenach.

Po przerwie ruszyliśmy dalej na przygodę z uśmiechem. Odwiedziliśmy wszystkie pomosty widokowe, aby zrobić wiele zdjęć. Niestety usłyszeliśmy burzę, przez co musieliśmy ich trochę szybciej. Niedługo później dotarliśmy do kurhanu (rodzaj mogiły w kształcie półkolistego kopca i jest charakterystyczne dla wzgórza kultycznego) jest to święte miejsce Prusów. Interesował mnie on bardzo, gdyż interesuję się historią, ale nie mogliśmy sobie pozwolić na dłuższe badanie tego zabytku, gdyż burza była coraz bliżej.

Na szczęście doszliśmy do samochodu przed burzą. Szkoda, że wyprawa zakończyła się wcześniej, ale z pewnością wrócę jeszcze do tego miejsca. Mogę powiedzieć, że odżyłem dzięki tej małej wyprawie i miałem świetny humor przez resztę dnia. Gdy będziecie kiedyś w okolicy, to serdecznie zapraszam!
