Kolejna tatrzańska wycieczka i kolejna próba spania w terenie. Początkowo pogoda była idealna- piękne słońce, kilka chmurek i delikatny mróz. Na następny dzień było zapowiadane załamanie pogody i opady śniegu. Niektóre z prognoz wskazywały jednak na krótki 2-3 godzinne okienko z rana. Na to też liczyłem.
W sobotę na szlaku zeszło mi ponad 15 godzin na nogach. Wschód na Kasprowym- Liliowe- Kościelec- Zawrat- D5SP- Szpiglasowy Wierch- Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy. Byłem tak wypompowany, że przed podejściem na Zawrat położyłem się na 30 minut na ziemi 😊
Wracając do spania w terenie. Plan był podobny jak w zeszłym roku, czyli spanie w okolicy Czarnego Stawu i wejście na wschód słońca na Rysy. Lawinowa 1 ułatwiła ten plan, pogoda niestety nie.
Tym razem postawiłem na wykopanie tzw. rowu śnieżnego i ze względu na zapowiadane opady przykrycie go tarpem. Moja budowla miała ok. 2,5 m długości x 1 metr szerokości x 0,8 m wysokości. Kopanie zajęło mi jakieś 20-30 minut i nie sprawiło większych problemów, brzegi tarpu obsypałem grubą warstwą śniegu co ustabilizowało trochę konstrukcję. Jak to w górach, nie mogło obyć się bez problemów. Już w trakcie kopania zaczął padać śnieg i zaczęło mocniej wiać. Z racji, że nie miałem „drzwi” to wiatr zaczął podnosić mój tarpowy strop. Na szczęście wszystko wytrzymało noc 😊
Oceniając takie rozwiązanie to można je podsumować następująco:
PLUSY:
- stosunkowo szybka i prosta budowa
MINUSY
- strop ugina się od wiatru i śniegu (może odlecieć w skrajnych warunkach)
- brak drzwi (konstrukcja do zmiany)
- śnieg ze ścian potrafi się obsypywać na lokatora
Another Tatra trip and another attempt to sleep in the field. Initially, the weather was perfect - beautiful sun, a few clouds and a slight frost. The next day there was a bad weather forecast and snowfall. Some of the forecasts, however, pointed to a short 2-3 hour window in the morning. I was hoping for that too.
On Saturday, I walked over 15 hours on the trail. East on Kasprowy - Liliowe - Koscielec - Zawrat - D5SP - Szpiglasowy Wierch - Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy. I was so pumped that before approaching Zawrat I lay down for 30 minutes on the ground 😊
Back to sleeping in the field. The plan was similar to last year, i.e. sleeping in the area of Czarny Staw and climbing Rysy at sunrise. Avalanche 1 facilitated this plan, unfortunately the weather did not.
This time I bet on digging the so-called. ditch and, due to the forecast rainfall, covering it with a tarp. My building was about 2.5 meters long x 1 meter wide x 0.8 meters high. Digging took me about 20-30 minutes and did not cause any major problems, I covered the edges of the tarp with a thick layer of snow, which stabilized the structure a bit. As in the mountains, it could not be without problems. Already during the digging it started to snow and it started to blow harder. Due to the fact that I had no "door", the wind started to raise my tarp ceiling. Fortunately, everything lasted overnight 😊
Assessing such a solution, it can be summarized as follows:
PROS:
- relatively quick and simple construction
MINUSES
- the ceiling bends from wind and snow (it can fly away in extreme conditions)
- no door (construction to be changed)
- snow from the walls can fall on the tenant
