Ok,,, so my first real post to steemit, and I screwed up the main tag... so here is the post again (girrrr)

Intro:

So, after being on Steemit for almost 6 months without a single post; I finally feel its time. For one, I think I have found the niche I would like to create content for. Also, curating without any “Steem Power” seems pointless (or at least futile)… and content creation seems like the easiest way to build Steem Power (without buying it)

About me:

My name is Matt. I am 44 years old and live in Southern California. I am married and have 2 kids (adult daughter who lives in Colorado, and college age son who is still at home). I work in the IT industry and enjoy Photography, Mountain Biking, Off Roading, Camping, and other outdoor activities.

My purpose for being on Steemit:

My original reason for joining Steemit was to support my wife @CreationofCare and her blogging. I have discovered that I really like the idea of being able to ‘reward’ content creators directly. One of my favorite photographers (and someone who I feel really got my photos out of the ‘snapshot’ category through his tutorials) has recently joined Steemit: @lightenup.

I personally had little interest in ‘blogging’, but have noticed a void in Steemit on some subjects that interest me, so… in the spirit of ‘See a need; Fill a need’, I hope add some off road and overland content to Steemit and hopefully inspire others to add more content on these subjects.

I hope to accomplish this through:

• Documenting our adventures including:
  • Off Roading
  • Road Trips (Roading?)
  • Camping
  • Overlanding (Off Roading + Camping. More detailed post to follow…)
  • Miscellaneous adventures and events…
• Documenting the build of our ‘Escape Pod’
  • Vehicle Specifics (Vehicle intro post to follow)
  • Modifications –changes made to the vehicle to make it more capable, more durable , safer, more comfortable, etc…
  • Maintenance/Repairs – document what it costs to keep this thing running…

Conclusion:

I hope to bring more off road/overland content to Steemit, document our adventures and be inspired by others. I have also not picked up my camera much in the last year or so. I miss photography and hope creating content for Steemit gets me back into the habit of photographing our adventures. I might even start participating in some of the photo challenges I have seen on Steemit

If anyone knows of content creators covering the topics of Off Roading or Overlanding (or related topics), please feel free to link to them in the comments. I’m usually fairly good at internet searches, but I just have not been able to find much on Steemit…
