Hello Hivers 💕💘,
In agriculture you must always push forward and ahead till you achieve your aim and that is why farming is not always easy for short. For those that are actually into farming you notice that there are some steps you will take in farming that you will pass through and also will never take records of it. That is also by the way but in this case I would like to also give us a clue about planting of maize. Yes we all know that in Nigeria we have different types of season whereby you can always utilize the season. Although it is a matter of choice as well but I will always try to tell people that it is when you get into the field practically you know more about agriculture not even when you read the internet or books. It's involved physical practice.
A planting of maize can be of different styles and Method depending on individual choices. But in this case I put down step by step which I also covered some few days ago and I know that it will always give me a very good outcome. After clearing the agricultural piece of land. I went ahead too pick all the necessary would stump and so on. This is to ensure a very good and smooth planting season likewise the growth and development of the seed I am going to plant at this point in time. Thereafter I went ahead to bring out the seed which is as shown below.
- The clearing of land took me a while because it somehow a water field environment. Which means that there is always constant most on this particular agricultural soil. Which is some how best for crops like rice, Millet, and to some extent pineapple and Maize.
This was the maize that I bought sometimes ago and it is now the due time for planting. Every agricultural crop has its own due time. Although in my own case I always plant all year round. So I was able to manage a lot of crops from one section to another.
We have different types of Maize. Which reaches from 2 months and a half, 3 months or 3 months and a half, and so on. These are the duration when the Maize will be ready for harvesting. That is why the time is not waiting for anybody. You grab your seed and you plant. So this was how the planting began. After the digging out the agricultural soil slightly not extremely too deep with the cutlass has shown in the picture.
The whole must not be too shallow or deep. It must be moderate. Why I said it must not be too shallow is because there are some animals that dig out already planted seed just like squirrels , birds, grasscutter
HOW DO THE MAIZE SEEDS LOOKS LIKE?
- The Maize seed is always numerous in the sense that even when you harvest your already matured Maize and you intend to save the seed for another planting season. You will always extract the SEEDS. And store them in a very cool environment then you add preservatives to it. That makes it more easy and also give it a very long duration in terms of storage. That was why I said your maize is always numerous.
As the planting continues you must also know that. The counting of the Maize seeds depends on individual choices as well. there are some farmers that Plants only two seeds in a hole. But in my own case I planted four seeds for a reason. I noticed that animals such as squirrel always visit the farm and damage the seeds. So it's for a reason and a purpose.
Then I placed the seeds into the already open up holes. As soon in the pictures. I am giving more illustrative pictures so that it will be easy for more people to remember and also trace my steps. After that I also covered the soil heavily sometimes because of erosion. That is why agriculture is always with one step at a time. If you forgot this step it is just a waste of time in Planting. Now the Maize is ready for germination.
