Thoughts will rule your life and affect your environment.
Whether we agree or not, you are today where your thoughts have brought you; meaning you will be tomorrow where your current dominant thoughts take you. But what are thoughts? A thought comes to us in pictorial form; their source is directly from the longings and dwellings of our hearts, and we process those images for meaning and expression.
Thoughts come from a variety of sources; from the world around us, from God, from ourselves etc, and they could also come from Satan. It is therefore important for us to guard our thoughts diligently which in other words; guiding our heart. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. (Prov 4:23, KJV).
Proverbs 23:7;
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.
Nothing ever truly happens to us passively. In a world such as this, without knowing it, we are constantly dominated by emotions driven by how something or someone makes us feel. These silent thoughts tug at our emotions, they compel us to act and we can be governed by such feelings.
Just like the batting of an eyelid is mostly involuntary, that is, we do not consciously think about it before acting; our responses to or a most dominant thought is the same. We naturally gravitate in the direction of our thoughts, with the emotions they stir. It therefore becomes critical that we take ownership of our thoughts.
Accept those from the Lord, embrace the ones that originate from us as a result of contemplating on the Word through the spirit of God, and that we quickly dispel any thought that isn’t consistent with godliness, which causes harm to people.
There is a greater spiritual height to attain which becomes evident as we let go of our preconceptions and willfulness, as we open our minds to the instructions of righteousness of God. The result is a life governed by the quickened Word of God by his spirit, a life of Peace, Wisdom and Blessedness. We'll find that we become better people.
