The capital of the UAE, Dubai is known for two world's largest megaconstructions – a tower of Burj Khalifa and shopping center Dubai Mall. Probably without wishing to lose the won leadership, the government of the UAE announced the beginning of implementation of the next megaproject under the name Mars Science City developed by the famous architect and the founder of the Big company – Byarke Ingelsom.
On the scales he doesn't concede to the famous predecessors at all. On the area about 180 thousand sq.m the unusual city – a prototype of future Martian settlements will be stretched. It will consist of several transparent domes — geohouses where within a year there will be able independently to live people, imitating life of the Martian colony. Project cost is estimated at 140 million dollars.
In the territory of Mars Science City several scientific laboratories which will be engaged in cultivation of the "Martian" crops will be placed. It is supposed that the city will provide completely itself with energy and fresh water. Here the museum of the greatest space achievements will be open, and his walls will make by 3D method - the press with use of sand of neighboring deserts.
Speaking about value of the project, the prime minister of the UAE sheikh Mohammed bin Rasheed has said:
"Mars Science City will become the significant contribution of the UAE to world science. We seek to be an example for others, making the feasible contribution to space exploration."
The project has long-term character. He is calculated on 100 years therefore it will be carried out in several stages.
