In the Weld County, for teachers, three-day courses on the use of firearms were opened. Teachers will be taught not only to shoot, but also to provide emergency medical care.
The course, prepared by a group of experts on training in the handling of weapons, was supported by parents, law enforcement officials and medical experts who believe that schools in the United States are a "weak target" of violence.
The teachers were taken to a country shooting range in Weld County, where they were shown how to handle several types of weapons.
The purpose of the courses, experts explain, is not to replace police or security services, but to allow teachers and other school personnel to prevent school violence and, if necessary, provide medical assistance.
It should be noted that for the first time the organization of shooting classes among teachers began talking after the tragedy at the Sandy Hook school in 2012, when one of the students shot his classmates and several adults, killing 20 people.
