Feliz y bendecido día tengan todos, el día de hoy amanecimos bien cansados, además de asustados producto del sismo que se sintió anoche acá en Cumaná Estado Sucre-Venezuela que tengo entendido fue de 5,4 grados y por otra parte, mucho más preocupados por lo que nos dijo el doctor el día de ayer, acá les cuento cómo estuvo nuestra aventura con la visita al neurocirujano, acompáñame a conocer cómo estuvo.
Cómo les he explicado en mis posts anteriores, Gilliatt debe asistir a consulta médica cada 15 días o cada semana según lo considere el doctor, por lo que tenía agendada una cita para el dia jueves pasado, así que nos fuimos a eso de las 2 de la tarde para que tuviera su revisión, y allí se nos fue toda la tarde, y el doctor nunca llegó, y no lo hizo porque él trabaja también en la ciudad capital Caracas, y se encontraba por allá, por lo que debieron mover su cita para el siguiente día, y no se los voy a negar, me molestó muchísimo, que no avisaron con anticipación, ya que para mí implica un gran esfuerzo llevar a Gilliatt hasta allí, primero debo buscar un taxi que no sea tan costoso, y después me toca subirlo, bajarlo y llevarlo hasta el consultorio que queda en un primer piso y para colmo el edificio no tiene ascensor.
Es realmente una verdadera odisea llegar hasta el consultorio, no porque sea lejos, no, si no porque aunque Gilliatt aún camina, lo hace pero muy poco, porque pierde la fuerza en las piernas, y no debe hacerlo por indicaciones del mismo médico a fin de no empeorar la lesión. Bueno no quedó de otra que esperar al viernes, para evitar todo ese rollo de la dificultad del traslado de Gilliatt, decidí llamar a la clínica y pedirle al chico de la recepción que me avisara cuando llegara el doctor para que en ese momento yo tomar un taxi y llegar allí, y fueron pasando las horas y nada, por un momento me pensé que al chico se le había olvidado, así que le llamé a eso de las 4 de la tarde y fue cuando me dijo que el doctor había llegado, pero que estaba bien cansado por el viaje, y avisó que no pasaría consulta, Pero que él nos atendería al día siguiente, es decir ayer sábado.
Por un momento pensé en hacer un reclamó, pero con eso nada iba a conseguir, respire profundo y me calme y seguí con mi día, ayer nos fuimos al consultorio y al llegar ya el doctor se encontraba allí esperándonos, porque solo atendería a Gilliatt, y tarán, nos encontramos con la noticia que habían aumentado los costos de la consulta y que en lugar de 30$ como siempre, ahora la consulta serían 50$, la verdad si me molesta bastante, porque no me lo notificaron desde el mismo jueves, y lo peor es que pensé que ya no lo iban atender, porque no tenía los otros 20$, pero el chico me dijo que como había sido un error de parte de ellos, que abonará los 30$ y que firmara un compromiso para cancelar el restante, y así lo hicimos, total debemos regresar la próxima semana.
Pero bueno al final de todo lo importante fue que pasamos a consulta, al pasar el doctor le hizo una evaluación nueva a Gilliatt, y observó los resultados de una resonancia que tenía que revisar, la cara del doctor era un poema, y nos dijo que la situación no estaba fácil, que iba a ser lo más sincero posible con nosotros, nos dijo que lamentablemente la lesión estaba empeorando, que el disco se había desgastado, y las vértebras están pegando una de la otra y por eso la intensidad tan fuerte del dolor, recomienda no caminar, o al menos hacerlo lo menos posible, también observó falta de reflejos lo que significa que existe un daño neurológico significativo que debe ser tratado a la brevedad posible.
La consulta fue bien dolorosa para él, con cada exámen realizado su cara cambiaba de color, y el dolor se reflejaba en su rostro a mi solo me resto quedarme sentada viendolo sufrir, ni modo no podía hacer nada, la consulta duró poco mas de una hora, le cambio el tratamiento médico por uno más agresivo, para ayudarlo a disminuir el dolor y a demás de recordarle el uso de la silla de ruedas para evitar sufrir mas daño en la lesión, también le mando a realizar un Rx dinámica de columna la cual lo va a ayudar a ver el estado en tiempo real de los huesos de la columna.
Toca salir mañana a buscar presupuestos de las medicinas a ver en cuanto sale este nuevo tratamiento, y además buscar presupuesto del estudio a ver dónde y en cuanto lo hacen, ya que debemos realizarlo y tenerlo a la brevedad posible para llevarlo la semana próxima al doctor, esperando siempre con fé que pronto se resuelva esta situación médica y Gilliatt pueda volver a caminar y hacer su vida normal, en cuanto a mi, bueno cansada pero optimista, y sobre todo llena de agradecimiento con todos ustedes, mil gracias a todos de corazón.

It is really a real odyssey to get to the doctor's office, not because it is far, no, but because although Gilliatt still walks, he does it but very little, because he loses strength in his legs, and he should not do it according to the doctor's instructions so as not to worsen the injury. Well, there was no other choice but to wait until Friday, to avoid all the difficulty of Gilliatt's transfer, I decided to call the clinic and ask the guy at the reception to let me know when the doctor would arrive so that I could take a cab and get there, and hours went by and nothing, For a moment I thought that the guy had forgotten, so I called him at about 4 o'clock in the afternoon and that's when he told me that the doctor had arrived, but that he was very tired from the trip, and said that he would not come for a consultation, but that he would see us the next day, that is to say yesterday, Saturday.
For a moment I thought about making a claim, but with that nothing was going to get, I took a deep breath and calmed down and went on with my day, yesterday we went to the office and when we arrived the doctor was already there waiting for us, because he would only attend Gilliatt, and tarán, we found the news that they had increased the costs of the consultation and that instead of 30$ as usual, now the consultation would be 50$, The truth is that it bothers me a lot, because they did not notify me since Thursday, and the worst thing is that I thought that they were not going to attend him, because I did not have the other 20$, but the guy told me that since it had been a mistake on their part, to pay the 30$ and to sign a commitment to cancel the rest, and so we did, so we must return next week.
But well at the end of all the important thing was that we went to the consultation, the doctor made a new evaluation to Gilliatt, and looked at the results of an MRI that he had to review, the doctor's face was a poem, and he told us that the situation was not easy, he was going to be as honest as possible with us, he told us that unfortunately the injury was getting worse, that the disc had worn out, and the vertebrae are sticking to each other and that is why the pain is so intense, he recommended not to walk, or at least to do it as little as possible, he also observed a lack of reflexes which means that there is significant neurological damage that must be treated as soon as possible.
The consultation was very painful for him, with each test performed his face changed color, and the pain was reflected in his face, I just had to sit and watch him suffer, I could not do anything, the consultation lasted a little over an hour, I changed the medical treatment for a more aggressive one, to help him to reduce the pain and besides reminding him to use the wheelchair to avoid suffering more damage in the injury, also sent him to perform a dynamic Rx of the spine which will help him to see the state in real time of the bones of the spine.
It is time to go out tomorrow to look for quotes for the medicines to see how much this new treatment will cost, and also to look for a quote for the study to see where and how much it will cost, since we must do it and have it as soon as possible to take him next week to the doctor, always hoping with faith that soon this medical situation will be resolved and Gilliatt can walk again and live his normal life, as for me, well tired but optimistic, and above all full of gratitude to all of you, thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
