For some years now, we have had a very nice family tradition: getting together on January 1st at my sister Dayana's house. She and her husband Joan welcome us with open arms, since he usually spends the 31st with his maternal family, and so the first day of the year becomes our special moment to celebrate together.
Everyone brought something to share: homemade food, drinks, desserts… the important thing was to contribute to the gathering. This time, the men decided to toast with whiskey, while the rest of us preferred beer or sangria. The atmosphere was livelier than ever!
We usually stay up late chatting, but this time was different… we practically stayed until dawn! It was a perfect ending, a golden touch to a night that reminded us how beautiful it is to celebrate life as a family.
These gatherings make me value even more the power of family unity, the importance of creating memories, and the magic of starting the year surrounded by love. It's not about grand luxuries, but about small shared moments that become immense in our hearts.
