Warning, short rant ahead:
You're not 'pro-gun' or 'anti-gun', 'pro-drug' or 'anti-drug'. You're either pro-freedom or anti-freedom. You either understand that people have the right to own whatever they want (provided they are not violently imposing their will on others), or you don't. It's called freedom.
(Radical, I know)
Someone owning a gun or snorting cocaine might offend you, but does your 'right' to not be offended trump their right to self-determination? Is the act of snorting cocaine a violent act of aggression? What about owning a firearm? You might find those acts offensive, but neither are violent acts of aggression.
It isn't a gun issue, a drug issue, or a tax issue; the issue is individual liberty and the acceptance of personal responsibility. Being for guns doesn't mean you have to love guns. Being for drugs doesn't mean you have to take drugs. It means you understand the principle of self-ownership and the basic tenets of individual freedom. You have the right to do whatever you want provided you are not violently imposing your will on others.
Freedom is the highest truth.
