Past weeks were really challenging for me in my job. Being in the civil engineering and constructions comes with a lot of challenges and requires a lot of skill in some particular tasks. I’m happy that I work in a company that deals with a lot of different jobs, starting from house buildings started from scratch and finished entirely and going in the area of heavy industrial buildings and just anything that you can think of.
Our latest project is making a steel construction for solar panels installation. Lately this is a trend and a lot of companies look towards. “Green” energy seems to fly quite fast in our world and there’s no better way to make use of free areas like rooftops and parking lots. Our project is a bit more challenging.

The roof that we are currently working on is the headquarters of a big Bulgarian bank. And not only it’s challenging because we have to make holes all the way down to the concrete slabs, but we have to defer with the challenging weather and constant rains. A big problem is that the general director of the bank works underneath, on the last building floor and noisy jobs cannot be done easily.

We have to drill holes in the slab where we would anchor our studs, but drilling holes in a slab that is full of rebars is not easy at all. The first two days of our work were like a nightmare and I wasn’t really aware of how the whole thing was gonna be done. Luckily, the work process showed us the problems and we managed to clear the process. Now, it’s a matter of time to finish the all 112 foundations that will carry the steel construction.

When I see the finished product, there’s some relief in me and I already manage to get some proper sleep without worrying about like everything related to this heavy task.

And yeah, the view from the rooftop is quite stunning. We are on the edge of the mountain so at least we can enjoy some nature when our short breaks.
And yeah, going back home after a week of hard work and seeing the joy in the kids eyes is priceless. I’m happy that we are finishing in just a couple of days and I’ll be back home.
See ya!
