We stay on the "Field of Mars" and see a marble building in front of us. This building is called "Marble Palace". The palace, like many buildings of the city is surrounded by water. Its northern facade overlooks the Palace Embankment
On the east side in the courtyard of the building in 1994 a monument to Alexander the Third was created by the architect Paolo Trubetskoi (the monument was dismantled earlier from another place and was in the museum storehouse)
The Marble Palace is the first building in St. Petersburg, the facades of which are faced with real marble. Architect Antonio Rinaldi tried to use different types of marble in his work, but he gave the advantage to the pink and red colors of marble. Marble was used for interior decoration of the palace.
We met with one more masterpiece of St. Petersburg architecture. I hope I can later introduce you to the masterpieces that are stored in the walls of these buildings. I wait for you next to my excursions.
