Lake Toba is the largest lake in Indonesia and also the largest volcanic lake in the world. The lake is about 100 kilometres (62 miles) long, 30 kilometres (19 miles) wide, and up to 505 metres (1,657 ft) deep. Located in the middle of the northern part of the Indonesian island of Sumatra, with a surface elevation of about 900 metres (2,953 ft).
Plenty of people said that the best view of Labe Toba is from this place called Tongging. It is a little town near Merek, Kabanjahe, North Sumatra.
Here's the view to the Lake Toba from Tongging.
There is also a bonus, in the form of Sipiso-piso Waterfalls. Its pouring almost vertical from the height of about 120m.
and when you reach the town and start looking at the lake, for me, its so peaceful. so beautifully silent. Even the wind whisper softly in my ear, welcome to Lake Toba...
Did I mentioned that the journey to this place is also another adventure?
