Alright, alright let's talk about the shit show, the most epic failure of a movie franchise thats still able to pull in the big bucks due to nostalgia and let's admit Superman was a pretty decent film. Henry Cavill played a really good Superman, can't fault an Aussie Russell Crowe. Although Cavill is way better in the witcher ( we'll discuss that in another post)
Justice league has had alot of challenges since it's inception, it's failed against Marvel which has done a great job and really set that bar. Marvel has a lot of failures to learn off. DC has had a significant amount of hit and misses. Aqua man was really good but Batman. Jebus!
But we'll go into depth about DC Vs Marvel in another post.

My focus is Wonder Woman, now I went into the cinema for the very first wonder woman in 2017 with low expectations. DC had already failed and after Afflek as Batman. I had no hope in thinking there was any redemption for this franchise. Superman was an OK film but nothing to be too excited about.
WW blew my mind, it was amazeballs! I thourghly enjoyed it and I'd rank it as one of the best comic book adaptations that's hit the big screen. I was impressed with the action packed film and it's plot, absolutely magnificent. I couldn't fault it.
I especially loved the character development which is quite common in this films with their own unique twist. Hero is weak, grows stronger, suffers pain, unleashes full potential. It's a hard one to balance but I think WW did this really well. A franchise that has not is Thor. They literally had to keep having Avengers infighting and creating new tech and skills to match Thor's abilities. They even had to turn Thor into an alcoholic as to not ruin end game. He was ultimate Thor, could have ended the movie in a single blink. But again, another post.
Wonder Woman 1984..... So how do you rebuild a successful film after they have dominated the battlefield and become their ultimate selves? Go back in time Duh! Film starts off good, a young Diana taking her place amongst worrior women, doesn't know who she is yet. Great entry.
But 1984 gave her the crapest villain, a wishing stone.... WTF not to mention rolling in all the Woke 2021 stuff. I totally get it, I'm pretty woke. But come on, please don't ruin movies. Ya didn't do it to Tony Stark, don't make WW a token Woman. I want her to kick arse and destroy the joint.
Not to fricken mention she's already at peak but not God peak yet because she's stronger in the Justice League, lil more cocky. She's bad ass and she knows it. In 1984 she should still be bad ass. This is eons away from the first wonder woman. She would have had a heap of other bad guys she would have destroyed by now.
Yes ok, I gst it. They nurfed her abilities because of her wish, good play, like it. Then she had to make a decision herself or humanity.
Her armour, that she reconstructed. Looked pretty leet but wasted in this film against a cat which mind you was supposed to be her. Electrocution how?
DC took an epic character and film and threw it into a shredder, everything WW was and took it away for her with the ability to lasso clouds and fly.....
I understand that they possibly needed to debuff her for the next movie and what ever Justice League has planned but WW is a God. She's kind of the DC version of Thor. Well technically she is his sister or daughter, I dunno. Thor - Zeus. Don't forget Ares was in the first WW .
I'm not sure what DC has left on offer or how they will redeem this flop but I hope they don't continue to stuff it. Aqua man was pretty good and I'm no longer hooked on WW. It will take alot to win me over for the 3rd adoption.
What are your thoughts? Was WW 1984 ruined like they ruined spider man or do you think it will redeem itself in future episodes? Let me know in the comments section below.
