No one does this and gets away with it. Among the many problems with our current faux "democracy" is the fact that certain special interest groups have WAY, WAY more power in Washington than their constituency would suggest they should have. IMHO, the various Israeli lobbies have about 5-10 times the power they should have given the numbers of people they represent.
But as we all know, it's not PEOPLE that our "representatives" really represent, but wealth. THAT EXPLAINS THE DISCREPANCY THEN, very well, doesn't it?
NO POLITICIAN above the level of local dog catcher can openly take on the power of the Israeli lobbies and live to talk about it (politically) another election season--unless, of course, it's part of some prearranged ploy. MANY good, and patriotic, and otherwise very well qualified federal representatives have lost their seats for less. Anyone questioning anything the Modern Nation-State of Israel does, typically, is immediately targeted for removal, supported by most mainstream "Christians" who have adopted bogus anti-dispensationalist views of Holy Writ.
Rand Paul (is a dad backstabber who I don't trust) must be getting ready to retire, anyway. His rhetoric has been welcome, even though his neocon interventionism never has been. But, taking a parting shot at Israel is interesting. I never knew he had THAT kind of apparent courage. We'll see what it all means.
