Hoy me levanté bien temprano, como a las 4:26 de la mañana. Todo comenzó con un sueño que tuve, donde pasaba una semana en una playa, desconectado de toda mi rutina diaria, donde el único ruido que escuchaba en el día era el sonido de las olas rompiendo en la arena y algún que otro pájaro sobrevolando la zona.
Today I woke up very early, about 4:26 in the morning. It all started with a dream I had, where I spent a week on a beach, disconnected from all my daily routine, where the only noise I heard during the day was the sound of the waves breaking on the sand and the occasional bird flying over the area.
Ese momento del sueño era muy especial para mí, sentía un nivel casi extremo de relajación, mi cuerpo estaba más liviano que nunca, jamás había sentido una sensación similar. Tanto así que decidí levantarme, y empacar todo lo necesario en mi camioneta para ir a pasar una semana como la del sueño que tuve.
That moment of the dream was very special for me, I felt an almost extreme level of relaxation, my body was lighter than ever, I had never felt a similar sensation. So much so that I decided to get up, and pack everything I needed in my van to go and spend a week like the dream I had.
Luego de tener todo listo y preparado, mire rápido el GPS del móvil y me puse a buscar una playa cerca donde no sea muy concurrida para poder disfrutar a gusto de todo lo que me esperaba esa semana. Ubiqué la zona y le di a ir hacia allá, marcando de recorrido unos 50 minutos, ya se aproximaban las 6 de la mañana cuando estaba llegando al sitio.
After having everything ready and prepared, I quickly looked at the GPS of my cell phone and I started looking for a beach nearby where it is not very crowded to enjoy everything that awaited me that week. I located the area and I gave to go there, marking about 50 minutes of travel time, it was already approaching 6 am when I was arriving at the site.
Me ayudaba solo el hecho de vivir al occidente del país, que amanecía un poco más tarde. Mientras estuve buscando un sitio adecuado para estacionar la camioneta empezaba a aproximarse el sol a salir. Luego de ubicar el sitio saqué rápidamente mi teléfono para capturar el bello amanecer que tenía frente a mis ojos.
The only thing that helped me was the fact that I lived in the western part of the country, and that the sun was rising a little later. While I was looking for a suitable place to park the truck, the sun began to rise. After locating the place I quickly took out my phone to capture the beautiful sunrise that I had in front of my eyes.
Aprovechando que todavía era temprano y no había más nadie en la playa, saqué la tienda para armarla, y acomodé todo lo que traje para estar preparado para el transcurrir del día. Comencé primero haciendo café, para tomarme una taza ahorita y para el día si me apetecía.
Taking advantage of the fact that it was still early and there was no one else on the beach, I took out the tent to set it up, and arranged everything I had brought to be prepared for the course of the day. I started first making coffee, to have a cup now and for the day if I felt like it.
Iba a caminar un poco por la orilla, pero después de tomarme la taza de café me senté en la parte trasera de la camioneta a contemplar la belleza del mar, escuchar el sonido de las olas y respirar el aire puro.
I was going to walk a bit along the shore, but after drinking my cup of coffee I sat in the back of the van to contemplate the beauty of the sea, listen to the sound of the waves and breathe the fresh air.
Pero por un momento me quedé pensando en lo que la pandemia hizo con la humanidad y que nos alejó por más de un año de venir al menos una vez a la playa y disfrutar de ella.
But for a moment I kept thinking about what the pandemic did to humanity and that it kept us for more than a year from coming at least once to the beach and enjoying it.
Rápidamente eliminé ese pensamiento de mi cabeza, me levanté, cerré la puerta trasera, me cambié los zapatos por unas cholas, y me dispuse a caminar por toda la playa, ya que era bastante extensa y quería disfrutar mientras se comenzaba a llenar de turistas.
I quickly eliminated that thought from my head, got up, closed the back door, changed my shoes for some cholas, and set out to walk along the beach, since it was quite extensive and I wanted to enjoy it while it began to fill up with tourists.
Por precaución marqué en el GPS del móvil la ubicación de la camioneta, por si acaso cuando llegara a la punta de la playa y me tocara regresar saber exactamente el lugar. Al alejarme tanto seguramente no logre ver la camioneta y en caso tal saber que tan lejos estoy y si puedo hacer ese recorrido todos los días en la mañana como rutina de ejercicios.
As a precaution I marked the location of the truck in the GPS of my cell phone, just in case when I got to the end of the beach and I had to go back I would know exactly where it was. By going so far away I will surely not be able to see the truck and if so, I will know how far away I am and if I can do that route every day in the morning as an exercise routine.
Caminando vi dos palmeras casi cruzadas que sostenían un columpio, hecho con tabla de madera y atado a los extremos con una soga blanca, que a pesar de todo mantenía su color. Para esa zona el agua del mar ya estaba agarrando un color marrón pero no creo que sea por lo contaminado, porque hasta donde sé la playa es apta para bañarse.
Walking along I saw two palm trees almost crossed holding a swing, made with a wooden board and tied at the ends with a white rope, which in spite of everything kept its color. By that time the sea water was already turning brown, but I don't think it was because of pollution, because as far as I know the beach is suitable for swimming.
Supongo que será la basura que dejan algunas personas y las mismas ramas que se caen de las palmeras que con el viento y el agua, se van descomponiendo y algunas se van mar adentro y ocasiona ese color tan peculiar. Al momento de la foto ya me había alejado bastante, había caminado casi una hora y a lo lejos ni se veía la camioneta.
I suppose it is the garbage that some people leave behind and the branches that fall from the palm trees that with the wind and the water, decompose and some of them go out to sea and cause that peculiar color. At the time of the photo I had already gone far away, I had walked for almost an hour and in the distance I could not even see the truck.
Para finalizar mi caminata a lo lejos se veía una especie de rocas, que marcarían el final de esta gran playa, por supuesto y a pesar de estar cansado seguí caminando. Al llegar me di cuenta de algo maravilloso, que sabía que tenía que venir para pasar el primer ocaso aquí.
At the end of my walk in the distance I could see some rocks, which would mark the end of this great beach, of course and despite being tired I kept walking. When I arrived I realized something wonderful, I knew I had to come to spend the first sunset here.
Una vez que llegué al final me dispuse a irme de regreso, ya el sol comenzaba a calentar un poco y la gente comenzaba a llegar no eran muchos, pero si algo así como uno o dos carros cada media hora, como la playa era bastante extensa siempre se apreciaba que el lugar estaba vacío.
Once I got to the end I set out to go back, the sun was starting to warm up a little and people began to arrive, not many, but something like one or two cars every half hour, as the beach was quite extensive it was always appreciated that the place was empty.
Al llegar a la camioneta por sorpresa todo estaba en su sitio, no había casi gente a mi alrededor, y se sentía fresco el ambiente a pesar de que el sol ya estaba pegando fuerte, me dispuse a prepararme mi desayuno para comer, ya tenía un poco de hambre.
When I arrived to the van by surprise everything was in place, there were almost no people around me, and the atmosphere felt fresh even though the sun was already hitting hard, I set out to prepare my breakfast to eat, I was already a little hungry.
Como iba a ser mi primer desayuno aquí me di el lujo de prepararme algo delicioso, cogí dos rebanadas de pan, piqué unas rodajas de pepino, asé un huevo en la plancha y me dispuse a comer, luego de terminar, lavé los utensilios usados y el plato, para ponerlos a secar ya que eran los únicos que había traído de este estilo.
As it was going to be my first breakfast here I had the luxury of preparing something delicious, I took two slices of bread, I chopped some cucumber slices, I grilled an egg on the griddle and I got ready to eat, after finishing, I washed the utensils used and the plate, to put them to dry since they were the only ones I had brought of this style.
Ahora me tocaba reposar el desayuno, nuevamente me senté en la parte trasera de la camioneta para dar inicio a la digestión, tanto que me quedé dormido, estaba cansado de la caminata tempranera y el ruido de las olas que me hicieron entrar en un profundo sueño.
Now it was my turn to rest for breakfast, again I sat in the back of the truck to start digesting, so much that I fell asleep, I was tired from the early walk and the noise of the waves that made me go into a deep sleep.
Al despertarme me encuentro con este increíble paisaje a mí, a pocos metros de la playa, como siempre hago en estos casos saqué una foto para el recuerdo, ahora se las comparto para que también la disfruten. Como ven ya era bastante tarde, el reloj marcaba las 3 de la tarde, y yo recién levantándome.
When I woke up I found this incredible landscape to me, a few meters from the beach, as I always do in these cases I took a picture for the memory, now I share it with you so you can also enjoy it. As you can see it was already quite late, the clock showed 3 o'clock in the afternoon, and I was just getting up.
Si les soy sincero no tenía mucha hambre, pero viendo la hora me tenía que mover para almorzar, luego para reposar la comida y posteriormente cambiarme para darme el primer baño en la playa, que sinceramente al tenerla tan cerca siempre tenía la tentación de entrar.
To be honest I was not very hungry, but seeing the time I had to move to have lunch, then to rest the food and then change to take my first bath at the beach, which honestly having it so close I was always tempted to enter.
Ubiqué una sopa instantánea para calentarla en el microondas que tenía equipada la camioneta, de tal manera que podía hacer la digestión rápida. Bañarme y caminar nuevamente al final de la playa para tomar la foto perfecta para concluir mi primer día aquí.
I located an instant soup to heat it up in the microwave that the van was equipped with, so that I could digest it quickly. Bathe and walk back to the end of the beach to take the perfect photo to conclude my first day here.
Después de comer y lavar todo, no me iba a sentar en la parte trasera de la camioneta, no quería quedarme dormido nuevamente y perderme mi primer ocaso. Así que enseguida me cambié y me puse el short para bañarme, me quedé sentado, pero en la orilla de la playa, esperando un tiempo prudencial para poder meterme tranquilo.
After eating and washing up, I wasn't going to sit in the back of the van, I didn't want to fall asleep again and miss my first sunset. So I immediately changed and put on my swimming shorts and sat on the shore of the beach, waiting for a reasonable amount of time to be able to get in peacefully.
Estuve más o menos 25 minutos disfrutando del agua hasta que me salí, para ese entonces el reloj marcaba las 5 de la tarde, rápidamente me sequé y me cambié, sin perder mucho tiempo me dispuse a caminar nuevamente hasta llegar al final.
I was more or less 25 minutes enjoying the water until I got out, by that time the clock showed 5 pm, I quickly dried myself and changed, without wasting much time I set out to walk again until I reached the end.
Al llegar las rocas marcaban una especie de entrada y salida de agua, donde las olas se introducían rápido y la salida del agua era lenta, al haber tantas rocas pequeñas sobresaliendo en la arena, el hecho de que una ola entrara producía una espuma en el agua que se retiraba, para esta zona entraba muy seguido el agua más de la que salía.
When I arrived the rocks marked a kind of entrance and exit of water, where the waves entered fast and the exit of the water was slow, as there were so many small rocks protruding in the sand, the fact that a wave entered produced a foam in the water that was removed, for this area the water entered very often more than it left.
De ahí viene la espuma que se aprecia en la imagen, combinado con el bello atardecer, donde los colores cálidos hacen de las suyas y nos deleitan con un bonito paisaje playero, para esta hora, quedaban apenas pocos vehículos en la playa. Y yo me disponía a ir de regreso a la camioneta.
That's where the foam that can be seen in the image comes from, combined with the beautiful sunset, where the warm colors do their thing and delight us with a beautiful beach landscape, by this time, there were only a few vehicles on the beach. And I was getting ready to go back to the van.
Hasta aquí transcurrió mi primer día en la playa, te recuerdo que esta no es una historia real, todo comenzó con un sueño y por ahí me fui llevando.
This is the end of my first day at the beach, I remind you that this is not a true story, it all started with a dream and that's how I got there.
