Many steemit users are like me. We want to see facebook die. We want to see Youtube die. There are many varied reasons for this. But overall, most of us believe in the future of blockchain technology. We know that blockchain tech is in its infancy and that what we see today has taken so many developers long hard hours and late nights to get us here.
But what you are seeing here,
Is a DREAM for a Facebook competitor. And I've heard from many that Steemit isn't trying to be a Facebook competitor. Blah blah blah. But this is just foolhardy. Your average user only has a finite amount of time each day to spend online. So when that user is on someone else's site posting and commenting...that means they are not on YOUR site posting and commenting. Thus you are losing.
Now, right now today is when Steemit needs to be announcing they are done with Beta. They need to launch whatever they are working on behind the scenes whether its finished or not or at least launch what is finished that they are working on. Or at least for the love of Pete, put out a press release noting the Facebook crash and that blockchain is here to stay making social media a fair and user friendly future!
And I hope that they fix the sign up process. I still get people who tell me that they can't sign up. You have to make sign up seamless and easy! If its a hassle, they won't come back.
Facebook has just been kicked where the sun don't shine. If Steemit and the community doesn't take advantage of this opportunity, they don't deserve to ever be a player in the future of blockchain social media. Facebook is ready to die.
