All things must come to an end, right? I don't want to stay at a website that has given every indication that they would rather I not be there.
About 3 months ago, Youtube locked our account. The google plus team sent an email that the account had been locked due to a spam video but no other information was given. All of our inquiries were not responded too. The channel remained live and you could view all of our videos but we couldn't log in. Email after email was sent and the responses we got were vague or most of the time, there was no response at all.
So we figured the writing was on the wall after months of our videos being restricted and our subscribers reporting that they were being unsubscribed and not getting notifications of new content. We made sure we had all of our videos backed up and began looking for a new outlet in which to share our homesteading journey.
We have settled on Steemit.com and Patreon.com. Patreon is great but you're never going to get a majority of your viewers to pay for content. Only your top fans will do that. Steemit fit the bill perfectly in terms of lack of censorship, audience growth potential and revenue for our material.
So our goal is to make top quality content so that people will learn and be entertained at the same time.
The farewell video is meant to show the absurdity that Youtube has become. Enjoy!
Starting Friday, Nov. 10th we will be launching our tool videos where we showcase the top most used tools on the homestead. We will do steemit posts on these but the videos will only be available on Patreon for now. Here is the show opener.
Coming up in December, we will be continuing the much requested Homestead videos. But this time, we will be doing winter videos to show you how we get through the winter time in the Ozarks while living off grid. What do you do when all the water is frozen and the pipes don't work? What about those solar panels covered in snow and batteries that are not in a climate controlled environment? See how we harvest our meat and learn the history of meat preservation. You'll have to wait and see. These videos will be posted only on Patreon with picture posts and articles posted on Steemit and our website.
Here is the promo.
So that's it! Hope to see you on the homestead soon!
