Choosing the Flea Market Over the Grocery
Hi, Steemheads!
A few days ago, I shared how I will be preparing my own food to make them healthy, then of course I should also be the one to buy the food items I need to prepare. That lead me to buying them myself and while I was planning to buy I realized I should also consider many things like where can I buy cheaper items, organic, fresh and all that. I decided to buy all of the things I need from a flea market and not a grocery because of many things.
During the recent holidays, I was able to experience my worst nightmare in grocery stores, they were jam-packed and waiting in line was suffocating that I'd always ask my daughter to do it because she is young and has the energy to do it. In flea markets, you actually have a conversation with the seller and you get to socialize and sometimes haggle for a cheaper price. Although I am not a fan of haggling, sometimes the seller will actually give you a better deal even without asking, specially if it's an item that's about to be sold out.
From today, I have decided I will be buying stuff from the flea market because of a lot of pros than cons of doing so. Aside from the items being cheaper and thus saving a lot, I will also be able to help more small scale entrepreneurs and farmers in buying their produce. I will meet more people and will have good conversation with them where I can probably learn a thing or two about stuff. It will also be a good exercise for me to go about and look for stuff to buy in an open marketplace. I also think you have more options when you choose the flea market than the grocery store.
Flea Market Feels
How about you, what do you think are the pros and cons of buying items from a grocery store versus the flea market?
This post is just 6th of 365 posts I will do the whole year, dedicated to going Green and sharing Humanity. If you think you wanna make a similar challenge to yourself, of course, you can join and do the same thing, too!
