The Closing Ceremony of the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, USA, on August 12, 1984, involved a UFO flying saucer floating over the stadium (during a full moon) and with the music of 2001: A Space Odyssey playing, and everyone told to set their given flashlights to the color BLUE! #ProjectBlueBeam
In an August 12, 2009, interview for the LA Times, the Hollywood producer of the ceremonies, David L. Wolper, wrote how they used a giant military helicopter to lift the UFO with a 100 ft cable. The helicopter was painted black and flew with no lights to be invisible at night and whose sound was covered up by two smaller helicopters.
In a January 14, 2004, article for Designer Times, the project designer, Bob Grurr, described the 50-foot diameter, 3,689-pound UFO in detail.
Bill Cooper believed it was an actual anti-gravity UFO and makes a point about the logistics of dangling a large object over thousands of spectators.
Interestingly, the UFO looks like the one that Peter Baron saw on 9/11.
