On Saturday, I met with a past colleague who is heading a start up.
His start up is an education based platform, which helps teachers who are willing and wanting to teach in person, with students who are looking for knowledge.
What I really liked about the platform is that the Teachers and the Students will be meeting in person. No more of this online, we can video chat, download my e-course and message me if you have any questions.

Students and teachers will meet in person.
The platform is used to connect teachers who still want to connect in person such students who still value in person training.
Teachers can teach ANY CLASS THEY WANT, from cooking to budgeting, to Yoga to crystal healing, etc, etc.
I am using this platform in two ways.
I'm going to start teaching again! I love teaching, always have. But I do not love the long hours and commitments of working at a school. With this platform, I can control my classroom size, and I can teach WHATEVER I WANT. I'm so happy and excited. I will be building my courses in the next few weeks and publishing them. This company wants to launch in August, and I intend to be one of their launching teachers.
Work as a system tester. The platform is new, it is still being developed. There are sure to be kinks, and I am sure to be pointing them out.
I get to be a copy writer! Everyone on the team can write well, but none of them are happy to spend their time typing, and many of them are not confident enough to just keep writing. You can't edit a paragraph 20 times when you need 30 paragraphs written to get started.
My income will come from the teaching. My writing will be an investment in the company which will pay in the future.
I am going to have to be a lot more careful in the future about getting paid in future money, as I have to pay my bills NOW, but this was too much of a juicy opportunity not to bite into.
It will look great in my portfolio, there is a great networking system involved in this start-up, the site looks fancy (which is making people like my auntie taking a second look at her niece who "writes for a living"), and it will look great on my linkedin profile.
That, and I get to teach again. I didn't know how excited I was about that perspective until now that I am writing about it.
My first class is going to be called "The Mom Mindset" I have some outlines of what I will be offering, and I have a syllabus I am designing, and I surely will be sharing it here when I launch it.
