The moon illusion is where the moon appears to be bigger than it is , particularly as it reaches the horizon. now i know that it is an illusion that the moon is"so big" but it gets me every time.
I look up at the moon and it looks massive, so i grab my phone or a camera and take some snaps.... but in the pics the moon looks like its just a spec on the image taken, even though im looking directly at it and it seems so much bigger.
I keep thinking about magician tricks and how once you know how the illusion works it seems to lose its edge sometimes, and then there are some which continue to be awesome even thought you know how it works, this is one of those times me thinks :)
To be honest it is the things i find in nature which have me in states of awe the most :) The way our limited senses are fooled into believing we have any kind of concept of what is"real" in this universe. Then i start to question how much we can really trust these senses to tell us what is going on objectively.... whenever i do, i always come up short...
