This is a native dessert in the island of Visayas, Phlippines particularly in Tacloban, the capital city of Leyte. If you happen to visit Leyte this delicacy is best pasalubong or take home treat to your families and friends.
This chocolate rice cake or popularly known as chocolate moron is made from the mixture of malagkit (glutinous rice), ordinary rice, coconut milk or crème, evaporated milk, sugar, vanilla, cocoa or chocolate powder. It is wrapped in fresh banana leaves.
