I'm starting to realise the financial beauty of Steemit after a few days playing about.
The name of the game seems to be to get upvoted by people who have made a real investment in Steem Power that seem to be categorized as whales or dolphins. Being upvoted by someone with no investment in the platform is worthless and, from an economic point of view, makes total sense. The developers have obviously and rightly rationalised, if someone doesn't commit and invest then they shouldn't have an economic voice.
I guess people will argue that it shouldn't be so financially dependent but then all the other social media outlets are available for them to express themselves.
I was never very interested in social media up until now, but with a financial incentive, I have been motivated to finally find my voice. I'm even starting to think it could be addictive and I understand why half the world is stuck to their smartphone.
Thanks Steemit
