This is a bush growing in my back yard. I've lived here for a long time, but had no idea what it is called, so I Googled it.
This is what I found.
HEAVENLY CLOUD SAGE
(Leucophyllum frutescens ''Heavenly Cloud')
Slow growing, a dense shrub that tolerates heat, drought and poor soils. Greenish-gray foliage adds a nice contrast to landscape plantings. Magenta, tubular flowers appear in profusion, usually after a rain. Can be used in mass or foundation plantings. Grows best in soils that are well-drained.
