After being down in Houston for 's Grandad's funeral, we desperately needed some nature and waterfall time so we set for a hike to Franklin Falls and then to Twin Falls. We also had the world famous Snoqualmie Waterfall on the list but after not hiking for so long and not eating breakfast, we could not make. But stay tuned for photos of that waterfall and hike tomorrow and a video here soon!
Franklin Falls was my favorite of the day, as it was a nice and easy hike of about 2 miles and the falls were amazing! We both loved the smaller falls that were to the left of the main falls, those are always the hidden treasures we love to find. It was also so cool once you got the falls as the spray zone was far for this one, as it reached all the way to us on the other bank. And I love the way Hailey's hair looks in the lighting as well, it really pops!
We then made our way to Twin Falls, which I had visited back October of 2013 but we realized that some how I did not make it down to the actual big waterfall platform which is the main attraction! Either that platform was not there before, or our friends did not know what they were doing lol. But we found it this time and it was stunning, but the lighting was bad so the pictures of the falls are not may favorite at all (the bottom two.) But this waterfall also had another treasure we love to find, the hidden caves! You can see it on the bottom right of the falls. I always imagine swimming in them but the water is also freezing!! This hike was much harder as it had much more of an incline and was 3.6 miles lone versus 2 miles, and we felt it! But there is nothing like getting a good work out and seeing amazing natural beauty!
