Congratulations to InLeo on the rebrand! I used to be one of those users that was a bit intimidated by the 'Finance' in old name, as I don't really post on finance related matters. I've also been hesitant to link to my blog posts on this front-end for much of the same reasons. But now with this rebrand, along with all the massive improvements to the UI on inleo.io, the choice has gotten a whole lot easier.
I really like the new name and I definitely like the new logo, so I've been itching all day to convert it to a 3D mesh to do something with it. And here are the results - I think these turned out pretty cool! Feel free to download these graphics and use them for your blog posts or similar if you like them.
Process
In my last post I outlined the process of converting an SVG to a 3D mesh in Blender. In the case of this logo however, I decided to trace it from scratch instead, given the clean lines and simple, elegant design.
I simply imported the PNG logo file as an image plane, and built the mesh using a mirror modifier, as shown here.
Then I added some volume and beveled the edges, before I started experimenting with different materials.
