Kentucky Fried Chicken Canada is trying to get Satoshi to reveal his identity by selling a cryptocurrency-themed bucket. A promotion stunt that is unseen before.
Kentucky Fried Chicken Canada has launched a campaign in which a cryptocurrency-themed bucket of chicken can be purchased using Bitcoin.
Bitcoin payments are being offered on the online check-out page, and processed via BitPay. A $5 delivery cost is being charged.
KFC Canada is using social media to get the word out about this promotion stunt. They are spreading the message through Twitter and are displaying a Bitcoin price ticker on their Facebook page.
The company has made clear this will be a limited time event, although there are more signs that KFC Canada is interested in adopting cryptocurrencies. If you take a look at their Twitter stream, there are more messages about Bitcoin than about their food lately.
To add a little humor to the campaign, Kentucky Fried Chicken Canada posted a tweet in which they ask Satoshi Nakamoto to reveal himself in exchange for a free bucket.
Satoshi Nakamoto is the name used by the person or people who created bitcoin and designed its original reference implementation. After 9 years, the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto is still unknown and the object of a never ending stream of speculations
Come on, Satoshi, this must be what you have been waiting for! LOL
Whoever came up with the idea of doing a promo campaign involving Bitcoin ánd the hype a the still unknown identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, should be rewarded, if you ask me.
The news - and the brands name with it - is the talk of all towns at the moment, being featured on every Bitcoin or cryptocurrency related news website - and thanks to this (and all other) post - also on SteemIt.
Personally, I like the way they think about promoting your business. Do you?
