Democratic Socialists are making inroads into our government. Project Veritas has documented DSA members working at the Department of Justice, the Government Accountability Office, and other areas working to resists efforts by the Trump Administration. All while being paid to support our government in a non-partisan fashion.
All of this after taking an oath of office asserting allegiance to the Constitution. This oath is actually required by law in U.S. Code Title 5 §3331:
An individual, except the President, elected or appointed to an office of honor or profit in the civil service or uniformed services, shall take the following oath: “I, AB, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.” This section does not affect other oaths required by law.
One has to wonder if these people are working against our government why they wouldn't be considered domestic enemies.
So how are these people making inroads into our government? The answer is published on the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) website in the form of an answer to a question:
Aren’t you a party that’s in competition with the Democratic Party for votes and support?
No, we are not a separate party. Like our friends and allies in the feminist, labor, civil rights, religious, and community organizing movements, many of us have been active in the Democratic Party. We work with those movements to strengthen the party’s left wing, represented by the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
DSA members can be expelled from the DSA if they are found to be "in substantial disagreement with the principles or policies of the organization". Apparently, a socialist taking an oath to "support and defend the Constitution" does not place them in "substantial disagreement" with the principles of the DSA. That tells me a great deal about the credibility of these Democratic Socialists, but I will let you draw your own conclusion. Or maybe that falls under the credo seemingly adopted by the Democrat Party of "the end justifies the means".
With the midterm elections coming up there is a real need for Republicans to maintain control of the government. Based on the above section, it appears that voting for a Democrat is almost the same as voting for a socialist. I wonder how long before the Democratic National Committee (DNC) officially becomes the Democratic Socialist National Committee (DSNC).
