I had been waiting for its arrival for a long time already. Not actively, every day, as then I would probably make it happen earlier. I thought about it just here and there, when I saw those never-resting dust particles playing graciously on the contours of the sun's rays in the living room.
I knew a little girl. She was nine. Maybe ten when used to observe the myriad of sophisticated ballerinas in their tutus performing their ethereal air dance. She used to stay in that activity, which actually can be seen as a very passive one, for a while. The last time I met her was the morning when her awakening was bathed in severe pain and the several black circles under her eyes were intense.
What are you doing? Sitting on the floor and looking at the air?
But it is not just an invisible mixture of gases. There are moving critters running and dancing and playing and jumping around. You see them just in the presence of the light. Don't you hear the music?
The ordered item arrived a few days ago. Being beaten by backache didn't stop me from getting up and opening the door for the delivery guy. Raindrops on the top of the box? Not too many, it didn't damage the content. The long-awaited meeting with this item can't be spoiled by some raindrops. Anyway, it was protected in transparent plastic wrapping.
Excitement. Unboxing. Funny, it could indeed be a documented one, but who cares about a little electric device? Nothing special.
It was anyway a cheap one. $65. Not bad for a vacuum cleaner, compared to the price of those I saw a few weeks ago. There was another one I liked, twice as expensive. The characteristics were the same though, so I would pay just the name. One of the things I checked before making the order was the sound level. 78dB. It is ok, the other one, the expensive had its sound level at 80dB, so this is better in that sense. The power of both was the same, 800W, also they had the same energy classification, A.
Let's see more characteristics... The dust tank is 2 litres. I don't think I have that much dust in the home, or maybe yes? The previous vacuum cleaner died recently, even it was just a couple of years ago that I bought it. My mother's vacuum cleaner lasted for at least 20 years. But probably more. I will check that promised high efficiency and low consumption of the motor, the feeling that the chromed telescopic tubes can give and how soft the "extra soft" rubber wheels are.
There is also a carrying handle, but why would I need that? I don't want to carry a vacuum cleaner. Isn't it supposed to follow my dance through the rooms of this apartment? This is disappointing, seems that the answer is negative. It has only 7 metres of action ratio... whatever it means. But the wheels are wheels, they have to move.
The airflow is 25 l/sec. What does that mean at all? Is it much? Little? I hope enough, and the new friend will not be suffocated quickly when faced with my pace.
We will get along well, it's just a matter of time. And getting to know it. I read that I can't vacuum water, for example. Also, I can use it only for domestic cleaning, for dust and dry dirt from floors, carpets or rugs. No worries, it will not go to the streets as a dog on a leash.
The day will come when Mr AP 8030 will perform his first task, but he needs my assistance. I hope one of these days it will happen, maybe with music.
P.S. Dear , I hope that this little story of buying and waiting for this vacuum cleaner fits the #MarketFriday community ;D
