Hello and howdy people on Hive!🤗 How are you on this beautiful day?
If you read my previous blog, you would know why we're here at Daanbantayan, Cebu- the northern tip part of Cebu. We joined the higher level competition in Oratorical Composition and Presentation- the Division level, participated by all municipalities in Cebu province. Each municipality shall send their delegates to this Division Level Festival of Talents in different contest categories. We're glad we have come this far and participated in this prestigious event!
It was a hot Saturday afternoon. We were waiting for a tricycle to hail going to the venue of the contest. However, it had been about 5-10 minutes but still no sign of any public transportation coming.
Hence, we just decided to take a walk from our billeting quarter- the Tinubdan Integrated School in order to avoid the scorching heat standing in front of the school.
Reaching this far on our walk, I was especially drawn and charmed by the lovely plants and ornaments that seemed inviting us inside as we passed by. Looking up at the signboard, I knew that this is a Cafe, Milk Tea and other Food/Drinks shop named Mainline Garden!
I always love plants (I meant I'm actually crazy about them) and I couldn't help but be wowed by a place surrounded by these charming natural creatures!
Since the warm afternoon started to dry my throat up, I also decided to have some refreshments and taste their special milk tea and fruit shakes.
I ordered 1 winter melon milk tea (regular size) that cost ₱85.00 ($1.51) while the student chose a mango fruit shake, also ₱85.00 (regular size). While waiting for our orders, we also took our chance and kept ourselves busy exploring and taking quick snaps of this humble but beautiful garden.
Different kinds of plants look so vibrant and happy blooming healthily in their concrete plant boxes as well as in jars and pots.
On the left side, you can conclude that this place must be lively on some special occasions because a television was set on the opposite end of the place.
As I checked their Facebook page later, I knew a certain band also plays here in this cafe to serenade or entertain its customers.
As I looked around, I was impressed at how tidy the area is not only does it offer a cool and relaxing atmosphere making you feel close with nature.
As it was just half past 2:00 p.m., we were the only ones who happened to drop by the garden and it was still empty. It definitely gave us more opportunities to make beautiful captures of its nice landscapes, and selfies, too!
This spot must be especially designed for friends and or lovers to take photo opportunities.
Making more steps towards the other side of the place, this wooden swing surely can be a perfect spot for a quick snap, too!
I noticed that the staff and crew were so busy preparing the area cleaning up and maintaining the beauty and growth of the plants in the garden not minding us exploring the place like Dora. lol
I requested one of the crew to take a picture of us and she did without any word! And, went to her task again. I just thought, "These people are so devoted to their work!" Never did I hear them talking while doing their thing.
This space can also be a perfect spot to chill in the Mainline Garden.
The Lovely Plants and Landscapes
Exploring the place further, some seats are also provided for guests in the much wider space at the back portion of the place.
We were so into the beauty of the plants and landscapes in the Mainline Garden that we lost track of time. And, as soon as our orders arrived, we just headed out to catch the tricycle passing by.
The sight of the tricycle made us forget that we still had to pay for it! The female staff didn't also ask me for the payment but just silently attended to her task of cleaning her assigned area once again.
I was on my third sip and was already standing in front of the cafe by the side of the road waiting for the tricycle when I remembered I hadn't paid for the drinks.
I was in this guilty state that I took my wallet from my bag in haste (so that we could take the tricycle) and my bag accidentally touched the cup of milk tea on the concrete bench. When I tried catching it, the cup already fell into the ground and was broken spilling the whole milk tea.
I tried asking the female staff to help and expected her to get some plastic bag or anything to save the tea. But in the end, she just asked me if she could just throw the cup! Whaaaatttt?!
Anyways, what I did was I just told her the truth that we haven't paid yet the drinks and handed her the ₱170.00 ($3.02)! I came for a drink but I left thirsty!(sad face) What a waste, I thought! Clumsy me!
Anyways, even though I spilled the tea, I thought I still kept my values. It was, indeed my unforgettable clumsy weekend experience!lol
And this is all for today's blog dear Hivers. Thank you for reaching far reading my blog. See you again next time. Until then...
