In a world full of inflations, wise moves save it all.
One afternoon, my husband and I discussed the high price of vegetables and other goods sold in the market. At home, we usually cooked fish and vegetables for viand. We realized that the only vegetable left was malunggay or horse radish, A not-so-healthy malunggay. Honestly, our vegetable plants in school are better than at home. I had this guilt that I had planted a lot in the latter, but at home, there's only one kind. And so, we plan to utilize the remaining empty bottled water at the back of our house. We may be able to save a little amount in the future.
It is how we started.
These bottles were kept during the pandemic, and many of us became plantitas as well as me.😁 We prefer to use the latter; so we can save on buying those expensive pots. We're using the latter because it's hard for us to cultivate the soil in our place. The next step is putting in good soil and the kind of vegetables that could easily survive.
🥦Planting Session
We chose alugbati (spinach), kangkong, lemongrass, and spring onion. My husband started planting while our daughter eagerly helped him. She likes to engage in whatever we do at home. She likes to learn.☺️
After planting, here they are, hoping for them to be healthy.🙏
A few weeks later.
Chadaan! Presenting to you our vegetables. When I visited them, it made me feel delighted; at these sturdy and survival plants.
The spinach looks like living a joyous life. I never thought they would be this healthy. It's different from the first day they've planted.
Hmmm, it's like they're leaping for joy. "Don't worry I'll get some of your stalks later." I love cooking kangkong with soy sauce and oil only.
Lemon grass is known for its health benefits. Before, we had a lot of them. However, as months passed by, they slowly died. I don't know why. That is why I am thankful I have another one at home. I hope it will live long.
The last one is the spring onion. We use the latter of many dishes we have at home. It's the only one left because we already used the other one😁 but we plan to cultivate more to have more harvest soon.
💫 A Thought to Ponder
Planting is not easy. It needs lots of time and effort to produce healthy ones. We were supposed to do it on our vacation. However, with the price increase, we decided to have it early. Our aim for the latter would add more like okra, singing, tomato, eggplant, and more malunggay. I know time management would be at stake in this situation, as this will thrust into our school work. Great results would mean great hard work.
And by the way, I am in my husband's school garden while writing this one. Indeed, I am more inspired to do planting because right now, I am looking at his fruitful plants of him.☺️
How about you; what inspires you to plant vegetables at home?
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. Have a happy day. God bless.
