I feel stuck on Splinterlands, yep, I said it, I feel so stuck and bored that I want to sell my cards and quit the game. Let me tell you why.
Before this entire collection power thing began, I will battle day and night to reach the highest level possible, sometimes I ended the season at Gold level 1, other times Diamond and few times at Champion. I don't have the best of cards, time and skill have always been my greatest ally.
However, since the implementation of the collection power, the max level I can reach is Gold tier 2, of which most times I only end up at Gold 3 or silver 1 due to those bots. The backlash to this is that I get only 18 to 22(on very good seasons) loot chests at the end of every season, also, the amount of DEC I win per game is very low.
So if I compare the benefits of playing to the time and energy spent playing, is it really worth it? Truth is I like gaming, even when I get nothing out if it, but my go to type of games are First person shooter adventure games. Splinterlands is my first experience in a Tradeable card game world, on a blockchain for that matter and honestly I love it.
Under normal circumstances, I should build my deck, that is, level up my summoners and monsters but hey!they come at a high cost and unfortunately I'm a broke ass(as my ex always called me), so I get caught up convincing myself to level up my cards slowly or buy packs.
Well, the thing is levelling up my cards slowly can take a very long time, of which these cards are likely to phase out with new ones replacing them, so I think it just makes sense to do that timely.............
........Buying packs seem to make sense, in that I might get lucky and open a very expensive legendary gold foil, but its a gamble, such luck only comes once in a blue moon. So I end up doing none.
Then why not just rent out my cards and earn passively from that?
Well, I need my cards to play and participate in the weekly blogging challenges as the upvotes I get from blogging go a long way in building my Hive account and doing that is super important to me because eventually when Hive price increases more than it presently is, say 2$, I will be positioned to make enough to divest into the game and properly build my deck.
Ultimately, all I see now is only but a warm up. So while I may feel stuck or bored about my present level, I understand that it will only be for a while, I know where I belong and I'll get there eventually. So will I sell my cards and quit the game? Hell no, what do I tell my kids was the reason for quitting the best TCG on a blockchain in the world?
So in the mean time, I will keep raining hell on the players in the level I'm at, while I keep participating in the weekly blogging challenges to grow my account, perhaps it might have been a dead end had that not been possible, so kudos to Splinterlands on that one. The plan is a long game. Quitting is not an option.
