Hello everyone! Hope you all are doing well and staying healthy.
If you ask me which season I love the most, without any hesitation I will say — Monsoon! The rainy season in Bangladesh is something truly magical. I know many people don’t like the rain but trust me, if you feel it the right way, there is nothing more beautiful than this.
The moment the first rain of the season touches the dry earth, that smell — oh! That smell of wet soil is something no perfume in the world can match. We call it “মাটির গন্ধ” and I think every Bangladeshi heart knows exactly what I mean.
The rivers become full and alive. The green fields look even more green.
The sky turns into a beautiful mix of grey and white clouds. Sometimes the sun peeks through and creates the most breathtaking view you can ever imagine.
I personally love sitting near the window with a hot cup of tea, just watching the rain fall. No phone, no noise — just the sound of raindrops on the roof. That simple moment feels like a gift from Allah.
And then there are the flowers. 🌸
Monsoon is truly the season of flowers in Bangladesh. After every shower, it feels like the whole world has been freshly painted. Shapla our national flower blooms beautifully in the ponds and wetlands.
The Shiuli flowers fall softly on the wet ground in the early morning and that sight is just something else. I remember as a child, picking up Shiuli flowers from the ground and making garlands with them 🌼.
The Kash flowers sway gently in the monsoon breeze along the riversides — it is honestly one of the most peaceful things you will ever see. Nature becomes a garden without anyone planting it. Every corner of Bangladesh just bursts into color and fragrance during this season. SubhanAllah!
Our country truly comes alive in this season. The farmers smile, the crops grow, the rivers sing. Nature is at its most honest and raw form during monsoon.
Sometimes I think — in this busy digital world, we forget to stop and just feel things. The rain is nature’s reminder to slow down.
“And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy, until when they have carried heavy rainclouds, We drive them to a dead land and We send down rain therein.” (Quran 7:57)
Subhanallah. Every drop of rain is a mercy from Almighty Allah (Swt).
I hope you all get to enjoy the beauty of monsoon wherever you are. Step outside, feel the rain, breathe in the earth. It is truly one of life’s most beautiful blessings. 🌿
