Cuando ví sus frutos extendidos en la acera, algunos abiertos y mostrando sus características semillas, reconocí lois dátiles. Una de mis frutas favoritas, en conserva. Algunos pájaros estaban aliméntandose con ellos, pero sensibles a la presencia humana, rápidamentente emprendieron su vuelo.

En Venezuela el dátil en conserva es una exquisitez navideña y desaparecida del mercado. En verdad, me encantó encontrarlos en los supermercados en España.
En cuanto a la planta, no la identificaba, pero ahora la reconozco por su tallo y sus hojas. En Cataluña van podando las hojas y los tallos se convierten en una bonita columna.
