Statues, especially ones carved from stone like this, are one of the more fascinating subjects to find for me. With a subject that never really changes other than through weathering over the years, it's a great opportunity to try out different angles. Light and shadows also play a part in this; sometimes even going back to a statue under different light can yield unexpected results. For this statue of Jesus, his well-defined features on the face are interesting; his beard is slight, and the eyes peer down to his hands. The brow has a slight furrow in it, which adds a little life to this statue.
