The supernova is a big explosion. This happens to stars. Birth and death are the game of this universe. A star dies as a result of a supernova explosion. Now the question may arise in your mind that does the star have life, that it will die? As long as there is fuel in a star, the star stays bright which is like a big lamp. They die when they run out of fuel
All the stars we see today are living stars. Nuclear fusion is constantly happening inside all these living stars. This results in a large amount of heat and pressure. This heat and pressure acts on the outside of the star and pushes the outer part outwards. The massive gravitational pull of a star tends to pull the outer part of the star towards its own core. As a result, there is a balance between the pressure force acting on the outer side of the star and the gravitational force on the core of the star.
At some point the star runs out of fuel. Then the star's nuclear fusion process stops. The effective pressure on the outside of the star tends to decrease rapidly. Now the gravitational force of the star remains effective at the same rate. As a result, the star rapidly contracts towards its core under the influence of gravity. This happens very quickly. The contraction is complete in just fifteen seconds. Completing the compression so quickly and in such a short period of time creates a very powerful shock wave. This shock wave causes the outer part of the star to explode. We call this event a supernova.
Supernova explosions are constantly happening in our universe. Scientists continue to observe it through telescopes. The rate of supernova explosions is very small compared to billions of stars. Two or three supernova explosions occur in a galaxy every hundred years. More than 100 Supernova explosions could occur in the observable universe in a year.
The black hole in the center of our galaxy is caused by a supernova explosion. The creation of the tiny black holes in our Milky Way galaxy would not have been possible without the supernova explosion. Neutron stars are the result of supernova explosions. Maybe the death of the stars is the beginning of something new.
It is also thought that all the heavy substances we see on our planet, such as iron, nickel, copper, gold, etc., are caused by supernova explosions. That means many of the elements we need are created as a result of supernova explosions. A supernova explosion could create a hostile environment for life in the universe. Without the black hole in the center of our Milky Way galaxy, the Earth would not be in a favorable environment for life. So it can be said that supernova explosion is very necessary for life.
