Wow! So I finally met Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, the senior pastor of COZA (The Commonwealth of Zion Assembly) in person. He was invited to my church (Harvest House Christian Center Ibadan) for the Evolve & Increase program holding from 14th to 18th March 2018. My word! He is even more amazing in person than in all the stories from friends and from social media. He is very passionate about his calling to raise a generation that would take over the world for Christ. It is so easy to tell from his every word that he is absolutely committed to winning souls for Christ! Pastor Biodun is an outstanding man of God, a celebrity even, a great source of inspiration for Nigerians, a role model to many and a very dear friend to my pastor, Reverend Gbeminiyi Eboda
Pastor Biodun is an excellent teacher of the word and on the first day of Evolve & Increase, he taught about prayer and its effects. He explained and expounded articulately, such points as 1) You can have all you believe when you pray 2) You are as effective as your prayer life 3) When you continue to pray, your desires begin to change and you begin to desire things in line with God’s will 4) Prayer can produce everything and can bring you anything as long as you believe and it is in line with God’s will.
It was easy to tell that he is a loving father. He was presented a lei/garland by a little boy as he arrived at the church premises and he received it with such pleasure and spoke to the young boy with genuine and infinite sweetness. It was a really beautiful sight to behold.
His celebrity status was undeniably evident as he walked down the red carpet into church, yet he had a depth of humility that was so very apparent. Different people respond in different ways to the effusive Harvest House kind of welcome. Some are embarrassed and withdraw a little, keeping a straight face as they walk in, while others are wowed and often express genuine pleasure. Pastor Biodun was one of the latter. He walked in confidently, absolutely comfortable in his own skin, delighted in the warm welcome and relaxed enough to show it. He smiled and appreciated and thanked everyone as he walked by. What a man!
Pastor Biodun is a man under authority and one who is not afraid to acknowledge his son-ship. He walked into church, met Bishop Felix Adejumo in attendance and immediately honored him by prostrating in greeting to show him due respect in the traditional way. It was a lovely sight to behold and a shinning example to young people who feel they are to big or too old or to smart to honor their elders as is our culture.
He taught us today, day 2, about the correlation between growth and the process of evolving and increasing. He reiterated the fact that all things are already ours in Christ, but we need to grow into the capacity to handle all things. He gave a beautiful example of a car he gave his little son because the boy absolutely loved the car and wanted to ride in it all the time. He however would not ever give the little boy the car keys because he is still too young and as at now, does not possess the capacity to drive. He will be driven around by others until he grows up and evolves into the kind of young man who can handle a car. It's the same way our Father in heaven has freely given us all things but we can't lay hold on the tangibility of these things until we have grown into the capacity to handle such.
It's been an amazing time in God's presence and I'm pretty sure that the remaining days of the program will definitely be just as fantastic as well.
Cheers and thanks for reading!!
