At the dawning of a new year, the spawning of another cycle of earthly rotation, what is truly present for us is gratitude. Rather than making a long list of things that we’d like to change, we are opting for a more gentle and sustainable approach to changing in the coming year. A shift towards a more grateful and accepting perspective, one where we can appreciate all that already is rather than strive for what is yet to come.
This year has been full on, busy, productive, exciting, wonderful, stressful, trying but most of all it has been blessed. We have set and accomplished goals, worked hard, grown and learned a great deal. Now that winter is reminding us to rest, go inside and reflect we are remembering the importance of space. Space for new ideas, novel approaches and time to reflect. Gratitude has a great power to heal, tap into abundance and fulfill our lives. It may be one of the most benevolent forces in the universe because it connects our hearts to the entirety of creation. Feeling gratitude literally opens our heart up to receive and allows for more expansive and inclusive possibilities.
Writing this is a reminder to be more grateful, take more time to give thanks and reflect on all the ways we are blessed. This past month has been much slower than the rest of the year, and it has afforded us an opportunity to deeply feel gratitude for all the gifts, lessons and accomplishments. After all, life is the greatest of blessings. Being grateful is to appreciate the subtleties and nuances of ALL the life has to offer; the challenges and successes. For us at Mountain Jewel 2018 is about being grateful.
What are some things you are grateful for?
Have a safe and blessed New Year’s Eve!
