More criminal justice reform is needed. End federal mandatory minimum sentencing for non-violent offenders. Reinstate parole with outside programs in each federal district to help and oversee those released rebuild their lives that show the promise of reform and let them return to their families and children. Many inmates are in federal prison due to statements made against them with zero physical proof of anything. That man lied, so ban him from ever having another public office or government job, and set him up to repay the tax fraud and move on. Things can be way more logical and direct than just locking people up for crazy amounts of time.
