Heeeyho Readers! It appears a technical issue delayed me, but here I am.
Do you remember the Millennium Bug? I was twelve in 1999 when the Millennium Bug scared the living shit out of everyone. I remember my cousin, a computer science student at the time, telling me that worldwide systems would go nuts when the dates rolled from 1999 to 2000―don’t ask me the details as I'm not tech-savvy. Moreover, we had no computer at home back then, so I noticed nothing. {disappointed}
Well… twenty-one years after yesterday―le me is no longer twelve―and it appears another sort of bug is messing systems up. It has to do with an expired certificate that prevents old devices from accessing websites, which includes, of course, my fifteen-year-old laptop. Anyways. All this blah-blah-blah (hello Greta) to say: 1.) Hive was inaccessible, explaining my disappearance. 2.) Hive devs fixed the issue beautifully. To the post now, please.
Updates on recent Ranch News: I haven't been there these past days for several reasons, but Dad told me he's contracted a provider to install internet. {Yey} Hopefully I'll be there next week to continue working and registering everything.
Last week,
I organized a bunch of tiles we plan to reutilize for the chicken coop. It appears the previous owners replaced the main house roof and stored the old tiles everywhere―and I mean, EVERYWHERE! I found piles of tiles near trees, covered in grass, hidden in the bushes and beyond.
Since taking this picture I've found even more tiles. Should be enough for a huge chicken coop.
Dad focused his energies on mowing the grass around the fence as I carried all the weight. My leg felt great, with no pain at all despite the arduous tasks. As soon as he finished, I began raking the leaves. So I had the brilliant idea of taking a before/after picture (I hope to bring more, as it's satisfying as fuck.)
This is an area below the trees near the property entrance. Before cleaning it was a mess.
After
Isn't it impressive how some cleaning can change an area? I'm so satisfied with the result thus far. Grass will soon cover this place if we keep it in order. I can safely say we earned a good area here that was previously unusable. We have no plans for this particular piece of land. Perhaps it'll stay inside the fenced area dedicated to the chickens, since there's plenty of worms and other insects there.
After all,
I hope to have bigger, better-constructed, more informative posts coming next week. The weather is not helping us out lately either, with rain showering us day and night―southern Brazilian spring madness. I'm up to start slow and build up the quality from here.
Thanks for the patience.
