Stream of consciousness visions for this ColorChallenge – SundayPurple
Temple Visions
I created a series of collaged mandala-inspired stream of consciousness pieces. This one actually has no mandalas in it, but uses very bold graphic shapes and brushstrokes in overlapping, repeated layers. It uses levels of intensity and transparency to achieve a bold yet dreamy composition. Among the many qualities of the color purple, I’d like to think that this piece embraces those qualities of magic, independence, and mystery.
There are five layers in this composition. See how it changes by turning on and off the different layers. This is a process of playing with the color, intensity and level of transparency of each layer in relationship of the others. So there are almost endless variations you might find by editing each layer. This is what I decided upon, but it is by no means the only solution one could arrive at. The images were first created as vector art, then imported into Photoshop for final composition.
