Chronicles of a Street Photographer, Day 3./ Monomad Challenge [Eng/Esp]

I recently attended a photography workshop where the instructor taught us that, to do well in this field, you need time; this factor is essential. I immediately connected this to my street photography; over time, I’ve come to realize that my photographic vision changes.

Recientemente recibí un taller de fotografía donde el profesor nos enseñaba que, para obrar bien en estos menesteres, se necesita tiempo; este factor es fundamental. Y enseguida lo vinculé a mi trabajo en la calle; con el tiempo me he ido percatando de que la visión fotográfica cambia.

It’s not the same as when I first started out as it is now, after two years; now I spend much more time observing my surroundings.

No es lo mismo cuando salía al principio que ahora, después de dos años; ahora dedico mucho más tiempo a observar lo que me rodea.

I remember that at first I would just walk and walk, but now I simply look for a place that interests me and sit there to observe; then the photos start to appear.

Recuerdo que al principio caminaba y caminaba, pero ahora me limito a buscar un lugar que me interese y allí me siento a observar; entonces van apareciendo las fotos.

Without forcing them, they seem to say to me on their own: “Here I am.”

Sin forzarlas, ellas solas me dicen: "Aquí estoy".

These are some personal insights I’ve learned over time, and I hope they’ll be useful to you. As always, it’s been a pleasure to share these images, and I thank you for your company and time. Tomorrow I’ll show you more of this beautiful and mysterious city.
