Last-Minute Photos. / Monomad Challenge [Eng/Esp]

Hello friends, how was your weekend? Honestly, I ended up very happy, although with my feet a bit sore from walking so much, but really satisfied with the photos I managed to take.

Hola, ¿cómo les fue este fin de semana? Yo, la verdad, terminé feliz, aunque con los pies un poco maltratados de tanto caminar, pero muy satisfecho con las fotos que pude hacer.

Let me tell you something that happened to me yesterday. My sister asked me to go buy a few things for the house and, of course, I immediately saw it as a good excuse to go out and take some photos. I ran to get my camera… and surprise: the battery was dead.

Les cuento algo que me pasó ayer. Resulta que mi hermana me pidió que fuera a comprar algunas cosas para la casa y, por supuesto, yo enseguida vi aquello como una oportunidad para salir a hacer fotos. Fui corriendo a buscar la cámara… y sorpresa: la batería estaba descargada.

“You have your phone, uncle,” my nephew told me, and he also offered to come along. And that’s exactly what happened. From the moment we left the house until we reached the market, we did the whole walk using the phone’s camera.

“Tienes el teléfono, tío”, me dijo mi sobrino, que además se ofreció a acompañarme. Y así mismo fue. Desde que salimos de la casa hasta llegar al mercado, hicimos todo el recorrido usando la cámara del móvil.

The first thing that caught my attention were the reflections, especially in the shop windows. Even though many of them were empty, they still had something interesting about them, almost as if they left room for imagination and creativity to play a part.

Lo primero que me llamó la atención fueron los reflejos, sobre todo en las vidrieras de las tiendas. Aunque muchas estaban vacías, tenían algo interesante, como si dejaran espacio para jugar un poco con la imaginación y la creatividad.

And what a great assistant I found for myself. Two heads definitely think better than one, and having him around made the whole walk much more fun.

Y vaya ayudante me busqué. Definitivamente, dos cabezas piensan mejor que una, y tenerlo cerca hizo el paseo mucho más divertido.

There was also a curious detail that really caught my attention: those dolls that appear in the photos are made by a woman using parts from other dolls. She has a small workshop in her house where she assembles them, and honestly, I found it very creative.

Hubo un detalle curioso que me llamó mucho la atención: esas muñecas que aparecen en las fotos las hace una señora usando partes de otras muñecas. Tiene un pequeño taller en su casa donde las ensambla, y sinceramente me pareció algo muy creativo.

In the end, we walked much farther than I had originally planned. I was worried my nephew would get tired, but it turned out to be the complete opposite — he loved the experience. I think I might have to hire him for future photo walks. 😄

Al final terminamos caminando mucho más de lo que yo había planeado. Iba preocupado pensando que mi sobrino se cansaría, pero resultó todo lo contrario: le encantó la experiencia. Me parece que voy a tener que contratarlo para las próximas salidas fotográficas. 😄
