Bitcoin is becoming "digital gold" with its increasing value and more and more merchants are accepting bitcoins for their services.
One of the leading air travel providers, Surf Air, has announced to accept bitcoin and ethereum for its chartered flights and monthly memberships.
Surf Air: “It Only Makes Sense That We Would Accept Bitcoin as a Progressive Form of Payment.
So it is good news for Surf Air members that they can book flight reservations by using their bitcoin wallets. Surf Air operates in 70 destinations in California and 30 daily flights to Texas. There are also chartered flights to Europe i.e. London, Zurich, and Ibiza.
“We are focused on staying on the bleeding edge of technology as a way to provide the most progressive, secure and efficient air travel in the world. Digital currency has been on our radar from the very beginning, and we are excited to provide our members with another quick and seamless way to do business with Surf Air,” Shahani details during the announcement.
Thus Surf Air has become the first airline to accept bitcoin as their payment processor. It will be using Coinbase for its merchant services.
