Just like all other types of makeup, applying lipstick requires the right approach.

Here’s how to make yours look beautiful and flake-free:

• Exfoliate Your Lips. To prevent your lipstick from grabbing any dry skin in your lips, you need to moisture and exfoliate first. Gently brush some moistened sugar over your lips to eliminate dead skin cells. Rinse with warm water and allow to dry.

• Moisturize. Next, prime your lips for the lipstick. Use a non-waxy lip balm to restore moisture and set the stage. Leave it on for a few minutes to allow it to soak in fully.
